I would end the database space in a matter of minutes. :P Two days in the week and I have already almost 10, and only using Elemental forums. Five days to go! XD

Nagging the plumber doesn't get the pipes fixed any faster.

Yes it does. Being persistent is what gives results. If you bother him enough, eventually he'll fix your stuff so he doesn't have to be bothered again :p

Whatever. I appreciate good customer service from the private sector and respectful responsiveness from government orgs, but I'm getting very tired of living in what seems to be an increasingly complaint-driven world. Mainly because the art of the constructive complaint seems to be on the verge of death.

How about everyone letting go of "I gotta be satisfied right freakin' now." and adopting a "Let's just cool out and realize this is just the Internet and NOT real life."

I'm with you GW Swicord. I'd love to come to the site and not hear whining.

I hate nothing more than that sentiment. Just because things were done slowly and dealt with patience twenty years ago doesn't mean it is virtuous and right to be slow and plodding in your pursuit of happiness. If a business wrongs you or makes a mistake in any way and has the capability to correct it, they should own up to it and resolve it with the utmost expediency. The only way to advance as a society is to demand immediate action. Just keep that in mind before scolding the whippersnappers and romanticizing the way things were done back in the old days. O:)

Alright, how good a troll post was that? 8/10?

If you think this is bad.. try using facebook since the updates a few days ago.. totally fubared the post feeds.. posts are no longer in choronological order and they only show you posts from people they think you might want to talk to instead of all your friends, if they show you any posts at all...

I think the SD folks doin the site's are rockin..

I've often wondered if it's just that they finally got around to addressing the issue and it wasn't the nagging that got it done. But then I get all paranoid and conspiracy theory-ed like that from time to time. I blame skinhit.

Speaking of which...have you tried their 'Live Blog' app? It's been around but I just recently discovered it. It allows you to blog on Facebook outside of the little comment box. I think it's actually kinda cool but I just took my percaset 30 minutes ago. I need to step away from the PC when I take it. I start installing all kinds of crap and wake up the next morning kicking myself in the ass for the mess I made on my PC.

Hates are futile...yours and mine. No one spoke of virtue. What's plodding to you might seem just fine to another. Neither is inherently right or wrong, just what's right for me. There's enough stress as it is. They're only pixels. Nothing to get your bowels in an uproar about.

The only way to advance as a society is to demand immediate action.

Maybe for you, not for me. Try just being that change you demand...maybe the ripples will propagate. Again, your definition of immediate might not be mine, but that's ok. There are better/more efficient ways of effecting change. Sometimes a whisper is louder than a shout....there's a difference between hearing and listening.

Just keep that in mind before scolding the whippersnappers and romanticizing the way things were done back in the old days.

Why be angry? I just don't like whining and drama...my prefernce, not forcing it on you. Wasn't scolding. Only mentioning my preferences.

I used to have a lot of problems with the forums, but not so much anymore. Still one of the slowest sites I've ever seen to initially come up(GalCiv2.com), but once here all seems good.

Did you happen to miss that part?

What.. like when customer service REALLY mattered? The "whippersnappers" of today don't have a freakin clue as to what good customer service is.

You USED to be able to go to a store or food establishment and get fantastic, genuine customer service and concern for your well being. All done with a smile. If you didn't get that, the employee responsible was dealt with most swiftly. Now you go to a taco bell drive thru and are greeted with a half assed - "'sup" at the speaker. Don't even get me started on the mental capacity to count sauce packets properly AND actually read the damn package label to know your giving out what the customer asked for!!

For the most part, most businesses don't give a rats ass anymore about what the customer thinks or desires. They claim they do, but their actions speak volumes in the opposite direction. It's all about cutting costs and  pleasing the stockholders , not the ones that got them there in the first place.

Perhaps this new generation's attitude  ("Give it to me now, my way, or I'll sue and go crying to somebody because I take no responsibility for my own actions because Oprah said so",) has just snapped the patience and motivation from the act of doing business to the point that there is nothing left of it other than just gaining the money.

What do you mean, Phoon? I haven't killed a single customer in nearly a year. I love customers. They're delicious.

Nothing personal aimed at Stardock Mr Phrog :)

You know as well as I (probably more so ) how the customer/business relationship platform has changed over the years.

The customers are being more and more .. well.. Assholes and the businesses just don't want to (nor should they) tolerate it.

Unfortunately since shit rolls downhill, the end customer experience just isn't as good as what it used to be thanks to the a-holes starting the fecal downturn!!
