Forums go Boom

Why does that happen? As an IT guy, my guess is forums.galciv2.com is low on resources, but that's just a guess.

Its the whole Stardock forum set I think (have not tried Demigod or Elemental). I have noticed it whether Im at GalCiv2, Sins, Impulse. It gets annoying.

I get more than a dozen of Egads each week (in Elemental that is where I post, nothing yet in SoaSE or Demigod where I only read). Annoying for sure.

All the Stardock sites are the same. They load as quickly as they would on a 20 year old modem...

I typed a large post, and the forums cut out... Could've just erased it all and cut out the middle man <_<

I'm in the habit of copying my posts to Word before I hit the dreaded "Post Reply" button.

Just a 'select all' and copy would do, before you hit Post Reply.

If it hangs, do a refresh after a minute or so to see if it takes. If not. exit the browser and try again. Your copy will still be in the clipboard.

 

I only post on the GalCiv2 site, but it is the same. Buggy and slow. I think they try to do too much with the fancy graphics, instead of simply going with a solid (and perhaps plain) website.

I am less impressed with glitz, than I am with functionality.
