Are EndGameSave.sav-files transportable?

Hello all,

I´m gonna get a new system in a month and wonder if it will be possible to start games with my current one and take them up on my new system - will these games be submittable to the MV?

Also, if I want to make a second submit of a game submitted previously from another system - will that work?

As long as the game is properly registered and activated on the new machine, it *should* be ok, though I'd keep them on the old one too just to be safe.

Basic problem is the old system will be destroyed, as I need the hard-drives.

But I have Win2k installed on another partition - if I'd now install DL on it and try submit one of those games? Would probably be the same situation, isn' it?

Yeah, testing it would be a good idea.

It doesn't work (yet).

Problem is that the DL version on Win2k is 1.0 (because I install from disc) - and I can't load any savefile in. A CTD occurs any time I tried. But these savefiles are made with v1.53.

Problem is I can't use Impulse to update it - and Stardock Central doesn't work, although it recognizes DL 1.0 and says it's registered etc - it tries to download the update but fails. I get an error message:

Download: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public\gc2\production\gc2.xml 0 | Attempt: 1 | -14 The Url is invalid
Download: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public\gc2\production\gc2.xml 0 | Attempt: 2 | -14 The Url is invalid
Download: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public\gc2\production\gc2.xml 0 | Attempt: 3 | -14 The Url is invalid
Result:  Installation failed (12)

Really strange. I used SDC in XP before, and it worked fine....

Okay, I've worked around that problem by installing DL v1.0 on my standard partition - played a game, which I could load-in on the other OS, too.

Just couldn't test to submit it - as the score was *unusual* low - only 952pts (!!!!) in a tiny ZYW that would usually harvest 25.000pts.  Unbelievable. First I was positively surprised to see that in 1.0 you could pick up to 50% racial research-bonus (!), but then that game seem to be so slow....

I think I got "hosed" by the Control-N bug, or whatever bug in that version persistsX(

It's unbelievable....... Any game I play with that v1.0 will just score ~1k score!

I give up...x_x

Ah, sorry, I was only thinking about the game itself (which should work fine on 2000)--SDC has been discontinued for some time, and .NET may be tricky getting properly updated for Impulse to run.

The game has been changed pretty significantly since 1.0, so scores are not going to really be comparable and savegames are definitely not cross-version compatible.
