MyColors, fences, and windows 7 starter

I installed fences because I wanted to get all of my icons to dissapear off of my desktop, then I installed mycolors because I wanted to be able to change my background in windows 7 starter, the theme will change, but not the background... Any ideas?

excellent question J....I recently upgraded to a new laptop with Windows 7 & previously, was able to 'hide' icons on XP via DesktopX....{on 7 when I try that it wipes the WHOLE screen....}installed fences with my Objectdesktop Suite but it didn't seem to be what I needed(but if it can hide the icons, please tell me HOW to do THAT).....THX!

Have you tried r-clicking on your desktop and selecting View and unchecking Show desktop icons?  That's how I hide mine with both Vista and Win7.
