“The Dumbest Smart Person”

We had a mouse in our attic.  My wife, who grew up in the country, hates mice and wanted me to kill it. But I convinced her to let me capture the mouse.

So I put up this special mouse trap in the attic and this morning at 5am I heard noise in the attack. I leaped out of bed, went up in the attic and got my mouse and took this video.

Then, I took the mouse downstairs into the kitchen and put him in a fishbowl to transport him to the field near the office.  Then I went back upstairs to gather my stuff.

When I returned…the fish bowl was empty.

Turns out…Mice can jump really far.

So now the mouse is somewhere in our house. Probably in the kitchen.

How exactly does a mouse escape a fish bowl?

That mouse could be like the Jason Bourne of rodents. He may break your neck as you sleep. Just sayin'.

That's my thought too. But it did.

This better be the intro to a quest now.

"My giant rat I was experimenting on escaped the small flimsy fishbowl he was securely placed in and is now raveging the country side!"

You are right, he is cute.  And this is hilarious!

The purrfect excuse to buy a cat Fragboy! Do it, you won't be sorry.

The cat will most likely become friends with the mouse though and invite it to dinner in the living room...

Maybe if you buy a huge snake instead? :X

Very easily- mice can jump vertically more than 12 inches (depending on their size).  That was a huge mouse, so I'm sure she could easily just jump right out.

Don't worry- mice only have 5-6 babies per litter ;)

You should have accepted the "Kill the Rat" quest instead of the "Relocate the Rat" quest.

Only if they have enough food. But she's in the kitchen so no worries...

I had no idea mice were that jumpy.

heh... why'd you take him from the trap to the fishbowl anyway?  Oh well, just rent your wife Ratatouille and tell her you simply needed some help cooking her a fine meal.  And then, rent her Willard .  Pacov's receipe for sleeping on the couch.

You should have accepted the "Kill the Rat" quest instead of the "Relocate the Rat" quest.

But "Kill the Rat" doesn't give any prestige, just a tiny amount of XP!

"Relocate the Rat" takes more effort and thus gives the rarer attribute prestige instead.

Ofcourse, the greed for prestige may backfire (like it just did) and you get nothing at all ^_^

My wife couldn't even watch Ratatouille because of all the mice.
My suggestion is next time try the fishbowl to capture the mouse and then transfer it to the mouse trap!

Cat would help solve the problem indeed, if it kills the mouse. Me my mom's cat doesn't kill mouse no more, since whe it kills them the mouse is no more fun to play with, doesnt move no more, doesn't try to run away anymore, it becoem very boaring.

But yes that is a big mouse. Almost looked like a gerbile to me but you don't have those where you live. And a mouse like that is indeed able to jump.

On a side note rodents are a lot smarter and more capable then we give them credit for. I remember my hamster's escape from his cage when I was a kid. That thing would climb the vertical bars of it cage 30cm up, then monkey bar it's way 20c, toward the cage door, it would position it's self according and then push it's head againts the door by pulling it's self upwards with it 2 front limbs only. This would make the door pop open and it would climb out of it's cage.

yea, but they have them every 2 months! ;)

You sound like my coworker here in the weather office, while my boss just got out a huge dumping of rat poison and put it as many places as practical.

I didn't get a good look at it, and thought it was just a ROUS

This was about 2 months ago.  I do miss the weather bunnies though.

At least you don't have Snathi running around the house (is it too late to suggest putting them in Elemental as well?)

Maybe ask if the mouse's name is Reepicheep (Narnia joke).

On a side note, go with Pacov's suggestion of Ratatouille.
