Democrats are given a pass (unless & until events absolutely force a grudging revocation) for their 'stupidity' - not so Republicans.
Not by this fella', thanks for playing though.
...and that's why you're failing to see the forest through the trees. Reid's words imply that "light skinned blacks" are somehow OK, or acceptable (what's wrong with "dark skinned" people?). He also makes the assumption that Obama will be liked because he doesn't "sound" black (unless he wants to, of course). Reid let his true feelings on race show though and the sheep are giving him a pass. I guess a little of that Democrat old time plantation owner mentality is still alive and well in the party.
No, I get the point Nitro - but the guy is still an idiot, and most likely (assuming the polls are accurate and stand), on his way out. He'll be out of office soon. Frankly, people are making a mountain out of a molehill. He's a moron, why waste your time contemplating the stupidity of a moron like Reid?
A republican says this - I would still call him an idiot. What can I say, I'm equal opportunity.
I am curious though Nitro and Daiwa - setting aside your fixation at what democrats do, do wrong, etc. - what if a republican said the same thing. Would you have the same outrage? I can't help but feel like you wouldn't. Though, if the day comes and you are equally outraged - then call me out on it and I'll apologize.
Secondly, he said what he felt...what he believed.....is that now wrong? Why do you (and others) try to justify what some people say, yet when its a democarat - it's wrong? Why not hold them to the same standards? Again, as I stated above, if you can prove me wrong - if you can show me that you do hold republicans to the same standards you do democrats - I will apologize. You have my word.
