PC is having really slow internet HELP!!!

I just built myself a new PC, and I pulled the old wireless PCI adapter out and put it in the new one computer. It connects fine, but THe internet goes from working fine to gettting about a byte a second every 3 seconds. I bought a new Wireless adapter of the same kind (linksys Wireless G pci adapter) and that one couldnt even connect to the network. So I dont know whats happening. I plugged it into the modem and it worked perfectly so it must be the wireless adapters right? Thanks

That and update all the drivers.  If your PC is not reading the Linskys card correctly your signal will be low at best. so go to Control Panel> Administrative tool> Device Manager> Network Adaptors to ensure the card is working.  If it is and you still have no internet, try Network Connections to ensure it is receiving a signal.  If not, reset your router and try connecting again... using a network installation disc if your ISP provided one, or manually using your network details/security key via Control Panel> Network and Sharing> Connect to a Network.
