"We'll turn the most closed and corrupt Congress into the most open and honest Congress," Pelosi (D-Calif.) told The Associated Press in an interview.

Thank you AD. Now I know about it, given that I hadn't read or heard about it.
And this is why so many here can't help but verbally smack you around. You completely avoided the reality of the article, that Obama promised transparency (and according to Adventure-Dude so did Pelosi) in this Administration and so far we have yet to see any and quickly went after why the Republicans are not dong anything. They are in case you haven't noticed, they are standing their ground by not going with this lie of a bill that you yourself don't want passed either.
So maybe you need to drop the hypocrisy and point your fingers to the real problem here, the Democrats. That's not to say the Republicans are better or perfect. They too need to get their acts straight but at this point they don't have any power so I not worried about them right now.
wtf?
Dude, Charles...all I did was do two things.... 1) Asked about it, because I wasn't sure (You know, I asked instead of assuming I knew...) 2) I suggested that instead of complaining more so about what the Dems do, to start worrying about what the GOP does. Actions speak louder than words - lead by example - these are all things that you and others here have suggested. That's great, but...it shouldn't be just the Dems you should be concerned with...what about your party?
You're not worried about them? Why not be worried about them, since we have to deal with both of the knucklehead party's. Frankly, your tactics (The Dems should do this, the dems should do that, the dems...) indicates to me that you're all about pointing the fingers. Fine, yes, hold dems accountable - but until you start holding the gop accountable, you really have no ground to stand on. It's akin to the pot calling the kettle black. If you're going to hold a politicians accountable, hold them ALL accountable - don't target one group or another, it smacks of party games.
Idiot: "The Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical congress in history." - Pelosi 11-07-06

Oh great Doc: I asked an honest question because I couldn't remember. Would you rather I went ahead and assumed, since you already assume that I know everything (which isn't the case)? Good grief.
I don't recall the Republicans stating that they were going to be the most transparent and most ethical, maybe I missed it?
Point isn't about what people said, but the matter of the cyclical (problematic) system we're in. Someone does something wrong, it turns into partisan clap trap (i.e. You get any or all party pundits on air talking about how the other party is horrible, evil, etc.). The party's followers then step in line and parrot (whether it is the party of the unethical politician, or his opponents).
Why? Why do we do this? I want to hear someone step in and say, quite simply, "Enough is enough. Neither of you guys are ethical - you're all a bunch of assholes. Start holding yourself accountable; no more lies, no more crap, nothing. If you do something wrong, admit it and fix it - if need be, step the fuck down. Enough is enough."
That's it. I don't care what party, what politician. I would throw the lot of them out if I could - even my own state reps and senators.
Now if you could, please take my entire comment in context people. (Not specified toward a single person) I know you all have a predisposition towards me due to the immature crap I pulled 4+ years ago, and that I'm some big bad evil liberal (\s), but I would hope that you could at-the-least, truly take a look at my words and what I mean. (If I'm not getting something across, or there are any questions, ask me please.)
Maybe add some FoxNews to your diet.
Oddly enough - though don't mention this to Nitro, he'll naturally have a seizure (\s) - I do read and listen to FoxNews. Just because I don't care for it, and that I am often overly critical of its...presentation style, doesn't mean I won't gather my news from all biases. In fact, funny as it is to me, my gf often gets all up in arms about it.
