Hello everyone!

Welcome to the WC 2010 Beta.  We are excited to be getting near the release of the new WinCustomize, but we still have many things to be worked out, and your help in finding issues and other feedback will be appreciated.  Remember, this is a beta and problems can be expected.

You can access the beta site at:

This forum will serve as the place to give your feedback whether it's a site issue, or general feedback about the site.  To make this organized and efficient, there are a few guidelines to follow in this area.

Tag posts with the titles.  Example: [Bug] Page Not Working

[Bug] Use this if you find a site bug.

[Feature] Obviously, if you want to give feedback on a specific feature.

[Request] If you are requesting something.

[Question] If you have a general question not pertaining to other tags.

If your post is something other than those examples, just tag the post appropriately so we can view them with some type of order.

The forums are not part of this beta, with the possible exception of a new theme.  Feedback for the forums doesn't need to be posted here.  If you run across a forum issue, please use the existing thread here.

[REQUEST] New - Poplular tab on front page - couild you add recently updated tab?

[BUG] Once logged in, when loading a new page the browser hangs for a few seconds then carries on loading. Happens in IE 8 and Chrome Win 7 32 Ultimate

Below "Explore All" can we have an option for "recently Updated" so we can view only the skins that have been updated.

Is it possible to have a "Explore my list" where users can select their own galleries eg. Wallpapers, Windowblinds, Icon Packages, Dreams and Sidebar gadgets only. So if we don't use log ons or winamp we dont have to wade through those skins.

[Bug] Clicking on  "Forums" takes me to forums on the new site the first time it is clicked but once there, clicking it again takes me to the old site. It does this if I've gone to a post and want to return to Recent Posts or just looked through the recent posts list and re-click it.

[Question] What sort of software do I need to download to run Wallpapers? (Explore Tab/Featured Galleries/Wallpapers.)o_O

On the plus side, the new WC loads much faster for me in a side-by-side comparison to the "old" site.  Even pages with a lot of content such as Articles are  loaded very quickly. :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:   IE8 w/ broadband connection.

this points to a deeper issue with filtering I think, I'm looking into it now. Also I'm looking at the date issue on explore all, like I said before there are a bunch of issues we are working through on the database side with the 'all galleries' view so bear with us (and thanks for the reports!)

 

For those interested in knowing, the bug where some users were not showing up a "More From This Author" sidebox on the detail page of a skin made by them is resolved.  Also a bug where the quick sort drop down menu at the top of the explore/browse gallery top bar would dissapear after switching to a different page should be resolved.  More updates as they come.

For those interested in knowing, the bug where some users were not showing up a "More From This Author" sidebox on the detail page of a skin made by them is resolved.

Still not seeing this. And not seeing other skins by me on the right side preview.

Sorry to say I am getting a mixed reaction in the WindowBlinds gallery, some skins are showing "more by this author" & some are showing "featured skins", I have been through several pages & it seems that the more well known authors have their skins & the not so well known have "featured skins". This is probably coincidence, I am not finding fault.

Doubt that will happen...I've been asking for that for years. And I really don't see this happening now with this new site. But one can hope I guess.

[Bug]  I was in ObjectDock skins when set to 9 per page it only show the next 2 skins (the first 2 move out and the last to are new)

when set to 18 per page the first 3 move out and the last 3 come in

when clicking on the next pager

this should be when set to 9 per page on page 1 and clicking to go to page to they all should be 9 more skins NOT 2

and the same for if you have it set to 18 per page page 2 should show 18 different skins not 3

Not sure what browser your using...but I've always been able to do that in Firefox & IE. Just click on download and choose to either install it or save it somewhere.

[Request]  Do you want to allow this webpapage to access your Clipboard?

If you allow this, the webpages can access the Clipboard and read information that you've cut or copied recently.

 PLEASE remove this!!  It's Obviously I (WE) want to or I  (WE) would not have done it. Right?

this is the only web site I know of that dose this..

you would have to do an awfull lot of accidentals

[EXAMPLE] 

You read a comment and then you  accidentally Clicked and held down your mouse button then you accidentally dragged your Mouse to the left or right and made it accidentally Hightlight the text, then you accidentally put your cursor over the accidentally Highlighted text, then you accidentally right click on it, then you accidentally moved your mouse over the word COPY, then you accidentally clicked on that word copy, then you accidentally scrolled to the Comment Box, then you accidentally Right clicked in the Comment box, then you accidentally Looked for the word PASTE, then you accidentally clicked on the word paste, THAT WOULD BE AN AWFUL LOT OF ACCIDENTALLY'S.

But at lest you let us do it with IE at lest add this to Fire Fox\

and WE all know it is not IE or FF that is doing this SO why is WC doing this?

Not sure what browser your using...but I've always been able to do that in Firefox & IE. Just click on download and choose to either install it or save it somewhere.

In IE for WB it open it and loads it right in to WB  the old site WC you could at lest right click an save link as

but  if it is in a zip then you would not have to do that it would give you the opption to save  just WB out of a zip

 

that's why I do most of all my downloading here (WC) with FF cuase of 2 resons 1 well said alreadly 2 it will all ways open the last folder I was in

and I useally OPEN 10 to 20 tabs at a time EXAMPLE WB then click on the pic. then right click to save pic then do the WB

in IE .wba open can't save inless you right click and click on save link as ... and it wants to put the pic in your pictures or zips in some other folder don't remember right know but I put all WB skins and the pic that gos with it in a Folder for WB skins and so forth with all other Object desktop / OD / CFX / CXP/ and FF rembers the last folder i was in    IE is just stupid  LOL
