Pushing the Limits of My Skills

Pushing the Limits of My Skills

...hope I have some hair left when this is finished....

Everything you see...every spike, rivet, and strap...I made in Photoshop. I'm rather proud of myself, lol. This one is going to test my skills, and push my limits like no other blind, so if you hear screaming in frustration....it's just me pulling out my hair.

This start panel took a long time to get right...and I learned a few things in the process. I imagine that this one will take a while to complete.

It still needs a name. It's called Armageddon. (Thanks Syd!)

Some progress....

Murex has graciously volenteered to make a DX theme for this blind. Whle he was playing around with ideas, he made a couple things for his DX that I just have to use in my blind. I know I said I was going to use only my work, but once I saw what he made....I just couldn't resist.

He made a sword, an axe and some shields, and sent them to me. I tweaked the sword and shield (the axe was perfect) a bit to match the blind a bit better and put them in. I have them in the loading screen, the control panel branding, and the start button. (I'm using them in the wallpaper too, but I'm not showing that off just yet)

2of3 suggested that my next shot of the blind should be on a lighter background to show off some of the detail. So...here is what I got so far. Vista is pretty much done.

Way to go, Merle. I'm glad to see you up to something. This really is spectacular, Cyndie. Tim's right--it does help to have a light background.

Now that Cyndie has said I am doing the Armageddon DX Theme. ( I still have a ways to go) But thought I would show what I have done so far.  There are six different menu's that slide up and down which gives an interesting feel and look to the menu's They look like they are being pulled up and down by the chains. The very top  slides up to reveal the calendar.

Thank you Cyndie for letting me do this theme and for letting me use your Graphics. All graphics are mine with the exception of the spikes, Loops, and belts. I have really enjoyed working on Armageddon with Cyndie.  I hope to do more..

Cyndie,  this is really looking fantastic!  I just picked up on something, though.  The text on your taskbar buttons needs to come down a pixel or two, so that it is centered vertically in the button.  My opinion....I am a real stckler about things lining up right in my blinds...lol.

incredible..whens the release date?
When I'm done.

Already fixed that ;)   and I still have a few more tweaks to do before I can start on the substyles.

It's off topic, but as someone who discovered skinning by accident a couple of years ago, the level of artistry of some skinning is amazing, and most of it is done for free by enthusiasts who make a living doing something else. It's a real luxury to be able to dress up your desktop in so many great ways for basically nothing. I look at my screen most of the day, every day, and I get to put something this good on it if I feel like it. So, thanks Cyndie and everybody else who makes it possible.
