So did you take it out to revamp and add to it? Or did we just lose it from the expansion all together. I hope not because some of the espionage ideas and posibilities flying around had a lot of potentioal and were some of the most exiteing.
You may want to define espionage a little better. Seeing enemy activity? Cultural subversion? Instigating riots and rebellions? Stealing money?
Its hard to meet expectations without knowing what they are entirely.
undermine was a small start. Everything you just named would be great. I was voting for a seperate spy ship, but I coud deal if they just put some espionage options on the diplo cruisers
Espionage options already exist, but are acattered on other tech trees.
Seeing the enemy gravwells for instance. Knowing when a fleet is moving in a near gravwell. Now, what we are currently lacking are options to affect the relationship of 2 third parties between each other. We can only directly afect our own relationship with another empire.
Espionage had a lot of potential, and yes, there already were some abilities that were scattered to other tech trees that i have seen moved to the manipulation tree under the vasari, though i haven't see there like yet in the tech, or the advent. It is almost like the Devs struck out in one direction, only to stop and change course. While i can see that this sometimes might happen at the planning stage, how it got this far and then pulled is beyond me.
I think the espionage options should have stayed, not just for the vasari, but for all the races. And yes, undermine was a very good start. I was starting to really enjoy the changes, and then got slapped with the beta two where everything got pulled and changed.
At this point i am rather disheartened, and a little miffed, but im not the developer, im not making it, so i suppose I cant very well say what can or cant be done, or how easily as i have no idea of what has to be changed to pull it off.
But still, even knowing not everyone can possibly get what they want, doesnt ease the desire for it.
I find im particularly disagreeable lately,
