120 seconds for 30 seconds? Really

So I love the new pact stuff and alot of the new abilities but Im not happy about passive Diplomatic imunity being taken away. It woudnt be so bad if the cooldown wernt so damn brutal but 30 sec is nothing and 120 seconds is an eternity when the planet that refuses to give you a ceasefire is the one your trying to make freindly...Im sure is works on small games ok since you can get to planets you want to ally with before they are well defended, but in large games by the time you find a potential ally their deffenses wipe the floor with you before you can get anywhere with the diplomacy scale...

I miss it too, and i shouldn't say this, but i have thought of course, of making it back into the passive ability it was before, take the ability and edit it. or do the lasts for 120 recharges at 120.

Or something less brutal in between.

To be honest I'm starting to think that Envoy ships may need some kind of help, as I was having quite a hard time getting mine through LTW's planets while playing a game with him last night. I solved this issue at the time by befriending an AI and having the AI attack his planet while I sent two envoys through. We'll see what others think on this I suppose.

It may be an idea to make a new research for those diplomatically inclined that buffs the ability to say  30 -> 45 -> 60 seconds reducing the cooldown by 10 seconds a piece also 120 -> 110 -> 100 that way you only have 40 seconds (at max level research) where you arent invulnerable and with how weak the ships are and with rather low regen they would still be killable.

Once you have decided to go all out and take everyone on these ships become completly useless. They should have to be intergreted with fleets for some type of bonus. Maybe fleets with an envoy included could pass thru neutral wells unabated.
