Banned because remember the fundamental conceit of the infantryman that I was talking about? Turns out there are two.

The defensive conceit of the infantryman: "I have personally been part of an event, therefore I am automatically qualified as an exert on it."

The offensive conceit of the infantryman: "You have not personally been part of an event, therefore you are automatically not qualified as an expert on it."

Banned because I can see the flaws in this. One who has not had experience in a field can be far more knowledgable than one who has. One who seeks knowledge second-hand often ends up knowing more than he who has it at first-hand.
