I am really really NOT liking win7. I have fixed most of the 'issues' but one that is bothering me so much that I can barely use this computer is the direction the live folders are pointing. I like the regular folders that have the opening on TOP. If a real folder were sideways and half open like the new win7 ones are everything would fall out. Sure it "looks cool" but it is totally non functional. yeah. I am weird.

So I got IconPackager and have been looking through packages. But it seems I have run my limit of ones I can get without paying. I have no problem with paying, but I want to be certain I get what I want if I do.

So is there an icon set out there that has regular folders? or can someone make some live folders (preferable for iconpackager) that work? I am willing to pay as long as it is reasonable and what I am looking for. Thank you.

tashmoore - have u browsed the icon packager galleries? there must be some that catch yr eye, you cld always check ppls site in case there suitable folders   |-)

yeah I browsed and browsed and browsed. I got some and none of them are really even ok. I do not want to pay for it if I can not find something that works you know? If I found something I would GLADLY PAY MONEY for it. But I refuse to pay and then not get anything out of it.

 

It is to the point that I can not use my desktop. I fear that eventually I will be lost not able to use any of this stupid crap. Please someone help me. I will even pay for a refferal if you just know someone who can fix this mess windows has made of itself.....

thanks. slicer looks ok, and icon a day might work but I can not tell for sure since it doesn't show live folders (actually it looks like slicer doesn't have them at all). I tried a few that looked like they might work but they only had a few folders that were good and were either totally missing live folders or still had sidways crazy ones. I can't try any more because apparently I have tested the limit allowed. If you could show me the live folders that come with either of those it would be a great help.

Neither of those have live folders, since they were made years ago.  However, IconPackager lets you select from different sets of Live Folders icons that are pre-installed with the software no matter what package you use.

yeah, but none of them are any good. they all have at least one that is sideways and annoying. I really liked the XP live folders. Those made sence and were useable. But at this point I would be happy with a not so live folder that could replace those horrible win7 ones. If I can't get this fixed soon I am going to have to reinstall XP just so I can use my desktop again. :(

I have to say that I have a real hard time finding good, useable IconPackages. Just about the only 2 I ever use (and always go back to when I do use something else) are Aero Midnight and Cosmos.

Cosmos is a Master Skin. It supports live folders and is a beauty of an IP. Aero Midnight comes as part of Theme Manager.

Junior also is a pretty good one, and I believe it supports live folders.

I also need something that changes the tiny ones that you see when selecting a place to save or a file to upload. I just can't navigate when everything looks so diffrent. And the folders that are sideways are really flipping me out.I need to find some things that have been lost since the switch to 7 but I can't with these stupid folders!

Probably because like all big companies, all Microsoft is interested in nothing more than making money, they could care less that you or anyone else wants to customize their system.  :S
