What Is a Good Skype Headset?

I haven’t used Skype much in the past, but now I’m using it more often, and it seems the mic on my PC isn’t the best for it.  It seems the consensus is that a headset type setup is best.

Any recommendations with links?  :)

I've been using this Gigaware one with Skype for quite a while. No complaints from me or the people I talk to on it :)

Yes, it makes a big difference. I use a cheap Logitech USB Headset. I can't find the exact one I use anymore, but the brand is good. I've had no issues at all and the sound clarity is nice. I can chat with someone on the other side of the planet (literally) through Skype and it sounds like they are in the same room as I am.

I have a Creative Skype edition headset. I'm happy with it and haven't gotten any complaints about sound quality.

I would check out the Logitech web site for Headsets. Under the product tab they are listed in 3 different places.

Skype Shop

This is the official skype shop for headsets, webcams, etc. Since they are Skype certified, of course, they bring you the best quality in your video calls. I recommend them too. :)

I have switched out headphones a few times, and as yet I have no recommendation for a good one, only a recommendation that getting a good one first time will save you money. I have had:

Logitech stand alone microphone £10ish - too much feedback (not as good as headsets).

Logitech Bluetooth mobile phone headset thingy with Bluetooth USB dongle £30ish - poor sound quality and uncomfortable ear piece which eventually broke.

XBox 360 headset which plugs into XBox wireless controllers £15ish - the controllers automatically switch themselves off if you're not using them, so this is no use when I am playing with keyboard/mouse.

Creative Gaming Headset HS-450 £30ish - find it uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Ok for a couple of hours, but not for an whole lan.
