Conflict?

Can only play online with other people using the same mod?

So I had an interesting question come up.  Can you only play online with people who have the same mods activated?  I use Distant Stars and checked who was online at around 12:30-1 EST and there were only 86 people online :(.

 

If anyone wants to play with me, send me a PM.  I'm EST, and it's almost finals week so I'm busy but I'd love to play when I get some free time.

Yes, if two people try to play with different mods, it just won't work. Everyone in your game will have to have identical checksums, which makes sense as otherwise everyones computers whould have no idea whose data is right and you'll get a desyncs as soon as the game starts (though ICO shouldn't even let you start the game).
