The thought of community

from WinCustomize Forums

I would like to say just a few words about Wincustomize and the sence of community here. I administer at 3 other sites and love doing it, because to me, there is a huge sence of community! I love the fact that Wincustomize has that same appeal! It's great to be able to support one another in our endevors, the comments are (most of the time) really possitive and the forums cover everything from Windowblinds to wallpapers. Great work Wincustomize! I'm proud to be a member here! :bebi:

It's nice to hear the admins are getting it right now and then.  So often the only feedback is negativity and vitriol....;)

I've met alot of wonderful people here (and a few crazy ones too).  I've developed some close friendships with some of you. I stop in here every night to see what is going on with you. I laugh and cry with you, I worry, pray,  and sometimes get angry with you. You are just like family. That's what keeps me comming back.

To me, the is no other internet community!!  I participate in no other forums and I don't do social network sites like FaceBook or Twitter.  Wincustomize covers so many of my online needs (social, skinning, news and tech info) that I have no need of another community.  More than that, I have made so many great friends here and I feel like I belong here. 

Furthermore, many online forums do not make new comers feel all that welcome and it takes ages to become accepted and fit it, sometimes not at all.  That was not the case for me here at WC.  My first forays into the forums here took off a little slowly (maybe some folks were afraid I 'was' starkers), but things soon gained momentum and was made to feel at home by so many fantastic people. 

Some of those folk are no longer here (or at least they no longer post), but many great new comers have joined our ranks to participate and contribute their thoughts and ideas.  Hence the community spirit here is surely alive and well.

many of you have become more than friends, you are family.

This reminds me of the Sister Sledge song: "We Are Family".  We may not be related by blood, but we're certainly related by a common bond and a love of this great community.

Jazzilady you've said it all. WC is much more than an upload site, and it feels just great to be a part of it. It makes me laugh, makes me grumble, brings some great art to me; but most of all it makes me feel that I'm among true friends. Long may it continue. :sun: :yes:

Lady Xi, don't worry about Ed... he always thinks it's about him....

The other day he was down at the mall watching a Christmas show when a lady ran into an old friend of hers and said: "Hey good lookin.'"

Ed spun around immediately and said: "Yeeeeessssss!" :rofl:
