I was thinking about what it meant to be a pirate. And the pirates in this game don't really act so much like pirates as they do bounty hunters. So I was thinking, what if the pirates actually stole ships from your fleet? This would make the game much more interesting since pirate raids later into the game would include more than just tek ships.
I think we aut to have a community vote on this issue. Pirates cheat and steal, that's what they do. So why would pirates just fruitlessly go to a planet to shoot stuff until they die? They should cause more havoc!
count on it, I plan on using anteachaire's "tractor beam" with the domination to make it pull the targeted ship close then use domination to simulate boarding

ryat's uber pirates atm... are still kinda weak... and very laggy... and they keep firing after i make them all go poof.

LOL, awesome! That's actually exactly what I did w/ the ability; and now you'll make everyone else suffer too! lol!
More realistic would be (to me at least)when pirates are in a well they can steal all income and make all buildings inactive.Also you cant make ships or anything at said well.It would be cool too since they take that well hostage that you can pay them ransom to leave.
yeah I was experimenting with certain graphical tricks that did not pan out all that well, they have been removed for the next round plus some new abilities that will catch you off guard
@mindseye- in DS we use the Sova ability for the pirates for that trick
and they use it drasticly well. While playing DS I kept wondering why my income hit the floor while being attacked by pirates....then I captured some with the advent and looked at thier abilities....devioise...
yes and the powerful pirates are worse, though I had to nerf them somewhat
