I can't get any AI to join up with me.

I have tried everything I can think of.  The highest disposition I can get with an AI player is 70.  And at 70 all they are willing to do is cease fire.  I know some of the trade pacts and such don't work right now, but I can't even get them to share ship/planet vision or join with me in peace.  I have failed to make any sort of alliance at all.

I don't see anyone talking about it on the forums and I am beginning to wonder if I am just doing something wrong.  What is everyone else's experience with it?

I am really liking the direction the game is going with this expansion.

Thats why they call it beta mate. You're not doing anything wrong; the game just isn't complete yet.

I am trying to think of how word this as to not sound confrontational.  Just understand there is no confrontation intended.

I tried wording my original post in such a way as to not give any indication that I thought the game should be polished at this point, or that I didn't understand what a beta product entails.  Guess I didn't convey it properly.

I am expecting feedback from other players about their experience with the beta.  I know it is very possible that the game is broken in the context of my issue.  But I haven't heard from anyone else about this issue and that made me wonder if 1. I am missing something, or 2. Has anyone actually succesfully gained an ally in this version yet?

How'd you get them as high as 70%?  Best I've managed is 60%.  I've also noticed that if I cease fire as soon as I can, I can't even offer my cease-fired friend any other options (even if I can offer them to my enemies) until such time as I build trade buildings, and have reached at least the trade alliance tech.  Then the others all activate.  That said, I've also only been able to get cease fires thus far.  Now, they've offered ME the cease fire, but that's about it.

(Also not trying to be confrontation; more curious if anyone else has seen this behaviour, or if I'm unique).  How's the diplomacy working for others at the moment?

As far as I can tell, you can get them to 60% and then pay them to temporarily boost it another 10%.  So it hits 70% for about 1 minute, but that still isn't good enough for them to like me.

There have been some posts on this subject, but yeah; nobody has gotten the AI to ally. In fact, besides the cease fire; none of the pacts work at all due to the "high standards" of the AI. At least thats what the guys from stardock said. Personally, I think that's a misnomer, as it makes it sound possible. But in messing around with the code and w/ the help of the dev.exe I'm pretty damn sure that as things are you could give the AI 1mil. cred and they still wouldn't do a mission.

no worries man; I was kinda trying to be ironic in the first post, guess it didn't come across.

I notice that they seem to get up to 30% diplomatic relation, but I've not seen any higher than that so far.  As far as I know, they don't successfully ally with eachother either.

On another note, I did notice that with enough envoy ships you can destroy credit income on a homeworld.  I think that's pretty kick ass.  The question is that there has to be a counter to this strategy, so what is it?  I think it should be less obvious than one research option in the tree.  Maybe the key could be a certain amount of cultural influence.

Yeah, most of the AI code is on a first or second pass simply because we have to get other features implemented or working. Rest assured that as soon as I am able I'll make sure the AI actually behaves in a Diplomatic manner.

tried playing with an AI ally from setup and they still wont accept any of the pacts. the game allows me to offer them so i know its not that they dont have the technology yet, they just wont accept them.

Really you haven't gotten any of the missions. Mine work fine up to ten ship and alot of money,Crystal,Metal and as long as the  computer isn't friends already with the target. How have you been able to get your allance up to 70% the most I've gotten it up to has been is 60%!  Are you serous that you had gotten a trade pact. I haven't even gotten any thing like it.   It's good though that the Devs. are trieing to get us all the features set-up and with how advanced the AI has become over the last 2 years I'd expect it will take them awhile to get it to heel.    I love the loyalty weakening ability of the Envoy does anyone else feel the same about the envoy.

I got one of them to 70% by:

30% diplomatic inclination.  They started in the same star system as me in a 5 star game.

10% Military bonus from having lots of ships

10% For having an embassy

10% Race relations

and then 10% from giving them credits.

If they were adjecent to me, they wouldn't have been as high as 70%.

I have also once had an AI complete a mission I offered them, which was very cool.
