You did the same. Maybe 100 other people in the world did the same too. I'm sorry to have to be blunt, but it's not like it was such an original idea in the first place... I'm really sorry if this offends you, I really am. But please... I am sure MS did not get inspired by your WP, they are perfectly capable of having the idea on their own...

Anyone who has knows what the actual score is on this sort of thing anyway. But I think it is very unlikely that Microsft stole your idea. Microsoft has a good team of creative thinkers who come up with all sorts of ideas. Do you stop to realise how much an idea costs in money to people like Microsoft.? How much did it cost Microsoft for the XP logo design ? Wallpapers are just the same.

Some one designed the MS Wallpaper and I am sure it is a plain coincidence this whole story. The chances of this happening must be very far and wide. I dont mean to upset you on this and I have seen your wallpapers which I think are very good. But the Windows XP idea, and everything associated with XP is not your idea or my idea or any one who is doing ports of OS's in the first place. What you do like me and many others are creating theme's and other things which are based on Microsofts idea's and thinking for it's new OS.

This is the message i wanted to write in the first place (Because of my English i didnt verbalize it correctly):

"In the latest version of Windows XP (build 2485), there is a Wallpaper WICH IS SIMILAR to my wallpaper with a name "XP Wallpaper". They took my IDEA and they have change it with slightest modifications, to monochrome blue."

Sorry that i have to say, that i totally disagree with your comment.

The IDEAS are not privilege of professionals and are not common to everyone. After you see or you hear a new stuff, everybody can think "ok, this is nothing, i can do it my self", and i say, "why didnt you in the first place?".

heh - I was at the world introduction of digital sound Sony did in San Jose. It was a machine called the PCM-1 which hooked up to a betamax VCR. During the show I told them my idea for beta which was to put the sound in the video signal to take advantage of the writting speed and bandwidth/dynamic range. The regional VP, Dennis P said I want you to tell that to some other guys and he brought out two Japanese engineers. I told them my idea including where to put the signal (between chroma and luminance) and they said "thanks, but we already working on that"

A year and a half later Beta HiFi was introduced and it was Exactly the system I described to them.

I will refresh your memory by quoting the following that you wrote as a comment:

Think again about that and tell me, if what you wrote, is not a proof of what i am saying ?

Honestly, adni, I have seen that technique used many times before. Not neccesarily with XP wallpapers, but displaying objects from that perspective is quite common.

I have seen both wallpapers and the only resemblence is the perspective.

Look guy's I think there is no trying to reason further about this, if adni, believes that for some reason his idea was stolen from him by Microsft, then so be it. It is clear to me he cannot be shifted to believe any thing other than this premise.

Yes I DID say this adni, but I was looking at a perspective of something that had not been done by any other skinner or artist on this site or the community. It does not however condone the idea which you suggest here.

Look if you are really bothered about this, I suggest doing this: - contact your Local Microsoft Headquarters, by e mail if need be, and ask them to quate you the riot act on copyright issues. you will find also they will also point out that your work as great as it looks, did not actually inspire their wallpaper.

Also the fact think of how much Microsoft payed for this wallpaper you are speaking of. If they had thought for one minute your work was the one they wanted to use, they would have payed you dont you think !

This whole thing is a coincidence I am sure.

Okay, i know well what i have done, when i have done it and why i have done it. I know also, that i was never interested in getting anything in return.

It is nothing personal against you or anything, but as we respect your feelings and accusations at the same time you posted this thread, and we are only responding to the thread like you asked. i didn't understand the craze until I went searching. WTF there is a HUGE database of some 100 XP wallpapers. That was crazy. Some were cool but all and in it is one wallpaper with a few filters applied to it or the same damn flag being sported in a different perspective.
And adni--whatever you did with microsoft's flag isn't your own and perspectives aren't anything new....hell i've been hand drawing things in perspective for years and I never bitched when someone else did the same.
I think what everyone was saying is calm down it's a two way street you use their logo etc.
And you get mad when someone doesn't stroke your ego and agree with you.
It's ok--you weren't honestly thinking some MS exec. would see this site and all your hard work done for free and actually hire you did you?

I am always honest in my life and i don't need no one to hire me for job.
I have my own job, I am a dentist and i merit the money i need.
The IDEAS are not common to everyone. After you see something new, you can say "ok, this is nothing, just a RESPECTIVE OF THE LOGO IN ENTIRE SCREEN,any one can do it", and i say, "why NO ONE done it in the first place?".
As i write above, the case is closed.

Urrrh. Look no is questioning your honesty. I am sure you are convinced that Microsoft stole your idea. But you just are not seeing the whole perspective. I have to agree with Flummox on this I have to say and countless others.

The wallpaper you did was excellent I thought, but the perpective of how you di the flag is not a new idea as far as I can see, havent you read what peopl ehave been saying ? [Oh never mind you wasn't really]

Any way, I have forgotten the all thing, all ready. The only thing that remains is bitterness in my heart.
I was exiting and proud, when I saw it first time in the new version of XP, for that I wrote that message, but with wrong worlds.
I really don’t care, if they got the idea for me or whatever, I was just playing with the logo.
