Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are pleased to announce the planned start of Beta 1 for Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy on Monday, November 23rd.

All Diplomacy pre-orders will be charged on Monday with access to the beta (which will not be fun, per our usual disclaimer).  Beta 1 will not be feature complete but will contain: New Envoy cruisers, Embassies, Diplomacy tech tree (much more to come here, only the backbone will be present), Mission Generator, the beginnings of the Pirate changes, "Faster" gameplay options and more.

To pre-order Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy, just visit the Store.

My guess is that they are testing the distribution on the servers so that a flood of downloads will not slow them down.

Yes finally...Glad I took Wednesday off now...I have Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, and Sun to play to my hearts desire.

And for those wondering...it should be sometime in the mid-afternoon time (American time)...if I remember correctly, that was when the beta for Entrenchment released.

For those who've asked, the Diplomacy beta will remain "open" to all pre-order customers until at least November 30th once it begins. We'll post more info once this solidifies more.

Again, and I hate to seem like a broken record, Beta 1 is more of a technical test than anything else. It is not representative of what the final product will be in terms of overall features/content (it's pretty much a skeleton). I just want to manage everyone's expectations ahead of time. ;)

You will be able to continue playing regular Sins and Entrenchment once Diplomacy is installed; just run the appropriate exe or launch which version you want from Impulse. However, since this is a beta, the possibility exists that Diplomacy may not install right. If this occurs, you'll be best served by uninstalling everything and reinstalling fresh from Impulse.

Stardock rarely gets things going until the afternoon, and once it is going the emails get sent out in order from when they were made. If its still on track for today, that could start in the next couple hours. :)

Now it will likely take longer for me, I had to cancel and reorder to fix an expired credit card. Hello back of the line. :(

I think you need to pre-order it and it will unlock on your impulse when the beta is out.

You also need to check the "show pre-release versions" on your impulse preferences I suppose.

I checked it yesterday and according to their "contact us" informations on Impulse - help page they are located in Plymouth, Michigan which should be GMT -5.

Thats what I like optimisim, of course its wasted on us users. You know damm well we'll moan until we get it, then we'll moan until you fix it, then we'll moan until you put exactly what we want in it, then we'll moan because you've delivered another storming expansion to a world class game and we can't find anything else to moan about. 8O
