Wallpaper Won't Change on Windows 7

When I try to apply a new wallpaper, nothing happens. The wallpaper is stuck as the default Windows 7 one.

So far from what I have read, Windows 7 Starter will not let you change your background at all, but I had done this previously using My Colors.

I don't believe MyColors will apply wallpapers on Win7 Starter Edition because the ability to change the wallpaper has been deliberately removed by Microsoft in order to make this version more affordable. If you are able to change the wallpapers using MyColors, more power to you, but to my knowledge, this will not work.

The wallpaper changed on our Acer netbook only after first applying the green theme.  We could not change wallpaper only...

Windows 7 Starter on HP Mini - NHL Leafs theme - it installed in full in admin account, incuding the wallpaper, but on a regular user account, wallpaper and some other images, such as the recycle bin, did not get set up.  Any fixes???

Im happy this thread came up here. I just got a eMachines em250 netbook from Walmart today and got all the proggies needed. Well I installed all my purchased My Colors themes and it works perfectly although, some areas appear black like around the start menu (probably for lack of transparency reasons)

But other then this everyone works rightv with Windows 7 Starter!

We installed "Diamond" theme and were able to change the wallpaper picture.  The only issue we had was that it stretched our picture to fit the screen.  This really looks funny when you start with a "portriat" picture...

The way I worked around it was to create a blank black picture the resoultion of our screen (1024x600 on the Dell Inspiron Mini 10V) and pasted in a copy of the portriat photo.  This way you get the picture not distorted and black sides...

We did run into a problem trying to use the original Windows 7 Starter without the Diamond theme.  In that case, it does not allow you to change the background using the original Windows 7 settings.  Only when the Diamond theme was active.

MyColors will require admin access to fully apply the theme.  Try running the app as admin under the limited account.

Well ok

Here is the solution for the distorted image when you put in 10 inch background wall paper

standard picture photograph are square in shape and your netbok is rectengular in shape

sosososso easy, just use paint" programme to open the picture and CUT it to rectangular shape and click copy,

then open new file in paint" and click paste it then save it under different file name

TADDAAAAA setle now no more distorted image in background wall paper... SOOO EASY

Maybe he wanted us to watch Sex and the City 2 because of the Vivienne Tam netbook with a custom theme from Stardock that makes an appearance...
