Microsoft's ultimatum: Upgrade to XP by October--or else

So Microsoft uses heavy-handed marketing practices to "force" their customers to buy a product..... sounds familiar. What about the claim that the reason for their new registration scheme is to prevent unauthorized copying which was driving the cost up and thus, could benefit consumers with lower software prices? The article says Microsoft is raising their prices over 100% - another lie gets folded into the myth filled fabric of the consumer conciousness.......

UGH. It's a shame that technology is so wonderful but it's asses like Bill Gates that wipe the fun right out of it.
