List of Elemental Mods

Partly insipred by RavenX's suggestion list: https://forums.elementalgame.com/365404 I have decided to create a list of all Elemental mods. There aren't very many yet (I could only find 3:P ) but eventually I imagine there will be a lot of them, and it would be nice to have a place to see them all. This list will include everything, total conversions, map packs, graphical improvement mods, ones that just add one race or two, etc, etc. Hopefully when the modding section of the forums gets created, this thread can be stickyed:P

All mods will be listed in alphabetical order, sorted by type.

Note: I will not add any additional tags. Either it's released or it isn't. I'm not going to put things like [Public Beta] or [Closed Beta] or version numbers or anything like that. DO NOT ASK FOR THEM.

What I meant was that the Sword of Truth series eventually becomes simply a manifesto of American Conservatism.  Every "Good" character pretty much loses their identity and they all spend five pages at a time complaining about how ever deciding to help a poor person enslaves them,  It gets really really really annoying.  Mr. Goodkind destroyed what WAS an engaging story in order to push an ideology.  His characters all became the same as well, they started out unique and interesting and then simply became the same person, the author.

Any true "Sword of Truth" mod would have to involve this aspect.  Which I don't consider fun.

Im sure your talking about the book in which he was trapped in the Old world, I believe he had lost his memories, and was living with Nicci? trust me, while he does spend that book being an idealogical blabbermouth, thats hardly cannon as far as empire building or questing is concerned. It just seemed to be a wasted book. The bible is the best selling book, and they don't include books that don't fit. We don't have to consider books that don't actually add to the characters or story. Basically anything that deviates from the main storyline ... if you wanted to be a purist you could exclude Jenna's non-magical quests as well. Although that might be a "special city" where you can recruit soldiers completely immune to magic (after winning them over with a certain amount of prestige of course) ... I've never seen a mod which included as much Dogma as it did story.

If you were going to have a "War game" mod, it would only involve non-filler storyline (why he had filler, no-one-knows)... but if you had read past the filler, he goes on to continue the story again, with the same skill and focus that he wrote the first few books. All that book was, was him talking about how he didn't like communism, because he was living in a communist city, under the thumb of his arch-rival emperor no less. If anything it was anti-communist propaganda, not American idealism. There was no manifest destiny, just hints of egalitarianism, which was revered by certain intellectuals among the french far before it was involved in American idealogy.

In other words, no, it wouldn't have to adress ideology, because it did not have a meaningful presence in the series. It was his "soap-box book" I think.

Hmm, how about Mage Knight? everything from Steam Tanks and Ancient Technology to Sorcerors and Dragons. Meanwhile most people are using good-ole fashioned medieval warfare. Its been forever since I played ... but the variety between factions/faction abilities was amazing. Could be good.

Her name is Jennsen. And I wasn't talking about Faith of the Fallen, it is actually one of the best books in the series. The political agenda works in the context of that particular story.

Again I wasn't talking about Faith of the Fallen, and I have read the entire series.  Everything including and after Naked Empire is a right wing diatribe.  Every character on the "good" side goes on multi-page long rants about ideology.  It is central to the story from then on.

And no a mod wouldn't have to include this stuff and could be fun, although I think I would set it during the time of the wizard's war that erected the barrier between the old and new worlds.

I actually mentioned a mod of my own that I've been trying to learn 3D modeling to accomplish.  I *think* its actually the first mod mentioned on any forums, being a "not-mom" mod.  I mostly mentioned it on the elementalgame.INFO which is why it may not have been spotted here.   I promise that such a mod will see the light of day, if I have to do it myself.

For one thing, the release is in less than a year, since the plan is still for it to come out August 2010. And creating the list early is way easier than making it a month or two after release, when there will be tons of mods started/being worked on. And there are already mods being started, so why not?

hmm, same could be done for controlling a colony of giant spiders ... could be very visceral and creepy in that case :)

I don't think there's anything fun about being conservative except maybe laughing at the poor people as most conservatives tend to be rich. They're conservative because they don't want to loose their money.

WoW that is the biggest pile of BS that I've heard yet.  I think we really need to explore what the term liberal and conservitive really mean.  Because people tend to use these terms rather loosly.

You have Liberals trying to dictate what a person can or cannot say (Political Correctness.)  And take away basic freedoms like the right to defend yourself. I mean a Liberal is suppose to be about freedom but I guess that term has been warped badly over the years. Now it is the Consevatives that champion the causes of freedom. Now if we can only get them to support Pro Choice and let Homos get married then they will be on the right path.
