Ahh well theres always next week. Man cant we at least see your fancy build.
Cant wait for more stuff!
More time for DA and MW2!
Guy running away from a chicken is WIN.
oooh
Did I see trebuchets there (or some sort of city defence thingy? Besides the tower I mean)?
Ok, we've got new categories on the research screen, less info cards, looks like more buildings, new resources on the map, and new items for units.
You know that part there where you click through the turns real quick? That's normally when I get a crash. If I click through the turns slowly it seems a bit more stable. Then again I'm sure your build is a lot more stable then the beta were working with now so I'm fairly confident we'll be able to test and critique more things in the next build.
Everything looks great ![]()
You tease Frogboy.
"If you've got the full version like me, you can turn off the cloth map and see....oh wait, I don't have the full version. GOTCHA!"
Excellent. The fountains of Alearindi are some sort of monster-inhabited ruin ala MoM?
No kidding, its bloody brilliant. Reminds me of legend of zelda, i was scared to death of those dirty invincible fowls
why didn't they go fight Ganondorf?
lol you chicken kicker ![]()
I have to say, one thing I particulary love abou this whole new development screen, are the different pictures for every level & route type. Guy running away from a chicken really gave me a good laugh
.
I saw that chicken thing and I literally LOL'd.
I thought it wouldn't be as good after reading five posts ranting over it... but yeah, the chicken scene is just awesome.
Edit: Ooh! I has a karma! When'd that happen? ![]()
awesome. I hope we have more video updates in the future. they are much more fun to watch than than to read. And now that I can't really check the forums from my work, I enjoy hearing the 'walkthrough' update
Maybe he's not running from the chicken, he could have seen your avatar ![]()
the space balls stunt double isn't that scary.
I have vague memories of some "adventurer" out to find a "great beast" that turned out just to be a chicken. I could be mixing together stories. Sir Robin of Camelot ran from the Chicken of Bristol, so perhaps he is the model 0-level research adventurer.
You ever hit on a "girl" in a bar just to have her turn around and be a man? It's scary as hell....not that uh...I ever did that or anything...
Besides, I get the impression that avatar doesn't do Shirley justice. ![]()
That's actually one of the big 'under the covers' change. Before, unit movement was tied to the animations, so if you clicked TURN before all the units were done moving, the data would get de-synched (and all sorts of bad things could happen).
We've cleaned it all up considerably, so clicking turn like a fiend is officially an option (since the data can now keep up) ![]()
Thanks for the video. I just realized something after watching this. Creating 3D models for the units will be hellish hard. I mean how will the equipments [various armors & weapons] fit on the very different creature models? Like if someone creates a creature [..as a basic civ unit], which has 2 heads, 4 arms and a huge body for example? ![]()
That was a superb video update. I hope Brad makes this a regular event.
Why do you think they didn't go with multiple fantasy races in the "canon" version? Although I am sure there are storyline reasons and I am not sure how different the animations would have had to be for "human" "orc" "halfling" or "lizardman".
If you want to do something completely different I am sure you will need to design every piece of armor, etc for that creature. Ugh. Good idea to have any races you add be vaguely humanoid prolly!
That's excelent news, brother. Well done. See, I said I had more faith the next build would be stable ![]()
Great update! Amazing how much faster it is to grasp everything when you're actually clicking around the interface...very helpful.
And as for you Mr Ravenx...was he flattered and curious? Or was he just going to attempt to beat you? And what was your immediate response when you beheld her sudden manliness? Oh...and finally, what was your pick up line to the back of someones head?
Brad you've just entered my "to clone" list right next ti David Weber and John Ringo ![]()
We should put the clone solely on video bloging duty

Indeed....:(
I'm still not sure about important techs like seamanship being RNG-controlled. I would have imagined stuff like "potions of abnormal healing" or "high-speed adamantium mining": you know, stuff that's nice but you can live without.
It's not RNG, Brad said that if a tech is green than you will allways be able to choose it when you will have a breakthrough.
