As I said, skin cliques around here are getting old and tired.  Constructive and negative comments are one thing, a coordinated attack against one person is another thing.  Nobody here has a problem with telling someone how they feel about a skin, it happens every single day.

The problem here is the clique that goes after people they don't like.  I know this as fact as I see the PM's sent to people.  I don't want to get involved in things like this, but I WILL defend any skinner that is being unfairly treated.

This is the same situation that happened years ago that drove many skinners away.  The solution was simple, and it appears it needs to happen again.

 

Great point! I don't understand why people won't have the common courtesy to give Vampothika some respect. She's one of the most creative skinners I've seen. If you don't like her work, don't buy it and move on. There's no sense in saying things that don't benefit Vampothika as a skinner. This is the wincustomize community.........I think we are supposed to SUPPORT one another.

And what PM's would those be ID.  I hope you aren't accusing me of anything here.  If you've got proof, show it.

How is telling a skinner that their work is subpar and showing how they are stealing other peoples work an attack?  It's ok to show plagarized work publicly and try to sell it but not to criticize it?

 

 

This makes me sad.

Constructive criticism is a good thing.  But should be done with the goal to assist.

Protecting your and each other's intelectual property rights should be done.  But privately.

Supporting skinning and skinners should be somethign we all try to do.  Because it helps us all.

"Stealing" would actually involve distributing the work, which hasn't happened.  We are talking about an error in a description here. 

 

 

 

It was directed at people . . not you specifically.  If you feel that it fits *you*  . . then perhaps a change is in order?  The same is true for anyone else that feels that what they do here (in skinning, or relating to skinners, or interacting in the forums) is not what they might desire in others.

You don't type out whole sentences in error.  She did distribute the work to LGSpence via email when he asked where it was.

As a mod I sometimes am asked to check out master skins.  So I can comment on those I see from trying them.  I don't comment on the master skins I don't try or from the screen shot.  That would be stupid.  How can I say something  about something I haven't tried.  So if you people haven't tried it, how can one comment on it and be truthful about it?  You can't.  So why would one do it.  To sound big?  Be destructive?  Run someone down in the eyes of the people?  Or all the above?  Oh well.....

 

Right.  Oh, It fits me alright in this instance, I'll make no excuse for it.  It's time someone said something about this kind of crap though.

WOM wonders when Lightstar was promoted to Master, thought he was a Journeyman.  Hum.  Like I said, comment on a skin if you've tried it.  If not, don't.

I made an obsevation after only being here about a year, maybe two, and being that I'm coming up on the five year mark, things have not changed much at all.  The observation, for an online community things are pretty much like real life here,

well my opinion is that the screen shot sux and in my eyes if i just happen to buy that skin and didnt like the screenshot and then didnt like the actual skin then if i wrote my opinion i'd be the bad guy still...and be told that i shouldnt have bought the skin if i didnt like the screenshot and then i'd also be told basically that im not allowed to make an honest opinion in the case....RELEASE MASTER SKINS and there wont be any critique...like i said before on the skin page...i have seen better for free from you kitty...have a lovely day

I feel Master skinners here cannot be challenged for their quality of work , and even the Journeymen, Master Apprentices are people who have been skinning for a while now and have done some great job And all other skinners are almost perfect in their trade just because of the fact that they would'nt be creating it if they did'nt know how to do it/ like it  So Kitty, all the criticism is mainly from people who do not possess the skills of skinning themselves and do not care for the hard work of others. Btw I love all your stuff and can confidently say it would be another awesome piece of art which you usually create !!

 

Yeah, that's exactly what it is.  Nobody has commented on the fact that I brought up about the wallpaper except for ID saying that "her description was mistaken."  And I'm sure she'll have a good story for it.  I'm finally trying to point out something that is wrong, that's been wrong for a long time.  Something that's been suspected for a long time and all the sudden, I'm the bad guy?  WTF ever.  I'll say what needs said, I don't need a bunch of people backing me up to say it either.  And if you folks that are on the WC or Stardock tit don't like it, so be it.

You're not speaking your mind; you're parroting what somebody told you to say.  We all know you and some other fanboys are just delivering a message that somebody wants to deliver because he's been warned, so he's sent his pack of dogs in to bite at Kitty's ankles because she didn't stand up for one of his other fanboys in a different thread.  This is really pathetic. 

None of the negative criticism on Kitty's blind is constructive!  "It's not master quality" isn't contructive; it's just an opinion, and it shows that you don't have the skills necessary to determine what is a master skin and what isn't.  Going into detail, pointing out where something doesn't function, perhaps offering where something could be done better is constructive criticism, but one would have to have a master's eye to see those things.  What those comments are right now is petty bitterness...and I truly expected a little bit more from those who participated.

I'll try one more time. Perhaps it'll sink in then:

Possible rips MUST be reported to an ADMIN via PM, email, smoke signs, pidgeon or whatever - not in public.
They will then be delt with accordingly.

Yeah, that's what I said, that it was my opinion.  Then, I went back to the shoddy ss and noticed a shape that caught my attention, a shape that I have in my very own PS library.  Found in a vector pack at DA.  That's when I got angry and fed up.
