Bush Reelection fallout

Administration falling apart

Well, ontop of all the other things that will result from Bush's reelection, we have this:

More than half of Bush's cabinet has or is expected to resign. Hes stuffing it with people that agree with him, we know this, and we also know that the fiasco over Iraq came from the people who agreed with him within the cabinet, and only the independent minded members had the balls or the desire to stand up to him. This spells trouble. Iraq was bad, whats next? War in the middle east possibly? I mean, I don't trust this fragile situation we have right now with Bush. Nor do I believe he will be able to take this monumental oppertunity and create peace there. On top of that, with everyone agreeing with his tactics, and no oposition, we have TROUBLE. Disent is good. It always has been. We are in for some rough times: A Bush "yes" cabinet, a republican congress, senate and possible supreme court means that we will have no dissent.

The cabinet members to resign so far inlude:

Homeland Defense
State
Agricultrue
I don't remember the others, but I just read there are 7 so far, with an expected at least 1 more to come. Add on top of this mass CIA resignations, along with UN Ambasador John Danforth.

On another resignation note... who expects Cheney to resign soon? Health reason maybe? I mean the GOP can't seriosuly keep him VP.. he can't run for president, so shoudln't they fill it with a candidate?

Spare us your apocalyptic wishful thinking, sandy2. Not that that's a bad thing.

Cheers,

Hopefully, he'll get replaced by McCain, and the curse of the zero will kick in, unless Reagan broke the curse

For cryin out loud...Bush is the anti-christ and it's the end of the world...never mind it's fairly common to make cabinet changes, considering some stated out front they wouldn't stay beyond 4 years. Get a life already. It's over, Kerry lost, the Dem party is out of sync. Mend your own fences before you cry wolf.

Jimmy Carter replaced five secretaries during his 1979 "midsummer massacre," and Bill Clinton replaced seven secretaries in the two months following his 1996 reelection.

You're right. Changing cabinet members is not unusual. But, what is so disheartening, and even scary is that he's creating a virtual echo chamber, one that will never say "but, Mr. President......." As Sandy pointed out, the intellegence community is also jumping ship, with Goss cleaning out the ranks of the disidents there, as well. And, the Supreme Court will likely go hardline, strict, overreaching, and possibly religious "moralizing". I never thought about Cheney being given the boot, but that's a good point. He can't run for president, with his severe coronary issues. As for McCain filling the void, I doubt it. He offers way too much dissent for bushie's taste.

I don't believe bush is the anti-christ. But, close.

Actually, Heather, Clinton replaced 8 (of 14).  So even if '1 more is to go', Bush will only equal Clinton in Number, not percentage since there are now 15 Cabinet Secretaries.

And Sandy, why should you worry or care?  You hate Bush, so what?  If the administration is going to fall apart, I would think you would be happy, not alarmist.
