Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Certain, right wing lawmakers are calling for Secretary-General Kofi Annan's resignation. Bush leaves open the possibility he supports his resignation (which is probable because it is after all Bush and it is easy to see how he would dislike Annan). Can I hear the word Hypocrisy? I mean come on people. I can barely count off the Bush scandals using all of my fingers. And now over some food for oil thing we want him to resign? First of all, this is small beans compared to what Bush has done. In the spirit of the Republicans I call on President Bush to resign for his scandalous and unethical behavior in office. I can't even find the words to describe what nonsense this is. So I leave it at this : Bush and the republican party are hypocrites.

I am a progressive Democrat, and I also believe it is time for Kofi Annan to go. I believe he has been a very poor Secretary General, and for the good of the U.N. we need new and decisive leadership.

I don't know whether it's time or not for him to go... but Bush and republicans can't talk about scandals. And further, Britain, France and Germany are standing by Annan.

The question should remain, why stop there? Let's investigate these scandals. After all, we impeached Clinton for sex...

Noooooo..... they didn't impeach Clinton for sex. They impeached him for lying about sex. So, if lying is the crime here, ohmigod, bush and cheney should be impeached, convicted, jailed and toss the key, goddammit. I did an article a few months ago called "Something Cheney would Prefer we do not know........." Link
Actually, it provided a link to Cheney's Halliburton link to the food for oil program. Yup, we're talking about major hypocrisy here. Not to mention the lying about going to war and all that crap.

IMPEACH BUSH/CHENEY

No, we impeached Clinton for lying while under oath....

Any way, I'm not too big on the UN. Maybe new leadership is the way to go. I really haven't seen results from any of the UN's recent actions, so I'm not sure that the leadership there is a problem.

Peace,

Beebes

Well, gosh, Sandy -

"Some food for oil thing"? The largest fraud ever perpetrated is "some food for oil thing"? And it has nothing to do with what Bush did or did not do. You've used this as a convenient excuse to bash Bush again, just because you can. Annan has been a disgrace and doesn't deserve any support.

Cheers,
Daiwa

Daiwa, you beat me to the punch. I typed in my comment and walked away from the computer without clicking on "Post Comment". I came back to find that you'd echoed my original post almost to a tee.

Sandy, your post is aptly titled, but not for the reason you'd think. Perhaps a good hard look in the mirror is in order.

Sigh, wrong again.  He was impeached for lying under oath.  The same thing that got Martah Stewart a striped pajama set. Deny the truth, and you will never understand.

Can you list one that has any basis in fact (versus opinion)?

They impeached him for lying about sex. So, if lying is the crime here, ohmigod, bush and cheney should be impeached, convicted, jailed and toss the key, goddammit. I

Well, you got part of it right, but of course par of it wrong.  It was Lying under OATH.  You know that funny little thing you sweatr to do when you go to court?  Take an Oath to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

Oh, but perhaps you dont understand that word.  Here is a link for you:
