Error after signing in

Well I just got into the beta and thanks! After sending my information I linked in other games that I had and after that at the menu it just gave me an error report and closes up. So I thought just like Elemental I would just restart my pc after downloading it it should fix it. Well nope it didnt. I started it up again, signed in and it gave me this error report. Yes I forgot to download win 7 today... will do that tomorrow after work!

System.Net.WebException error is fixed in next release.

can you please send C:\ProgramData\Stardock\ReadyToPlay\InstalledGames.xml to [email protected].

I'll get that fixed as soon as I can take a look at that file :)

Thanks

Ever since this was released, I cannot run it. I install, update, run - and even before it shows any log in screen it crashes.

Can you try an uninstall and reinstall?  I've had a few problems with the update where it makes RTP unrunnable.

Let me know

No, no change at all. I am currently trying via Remote Desktop and will try it again when I get home after work, but so far it's the same. It also says that it requires 0 bytes to install in the setup screen. It definitely downloads files and installs them, I verified the installation.

EDIT: I did install it on the PC here at work and everything works fine so far, I logged in and so on. Does this has any issues with XP SP3 systems? Another thign I noticed, I do not have .Net 2 installed on my home PC but I have version 3. Is that a problem? Because I tried to install .net 2 and I couldn't because I had "a newer version" alredy installed.

.Net 3 includes 2.0  in it, so no you should not need it, I have tested RTP on SP3 before and it worked, but I will set up a test system and double check that its still ok with it.

I'll let you know as soon as I get it tested.

I installed a clean XP system upgraded to SP3 and allowed windows update to install all security patches.

RTP runs fine

When RTP crashes do you get an error dialog or any other feedback from it?

I really am interested in finding out why its not working for you.

This is what I get

http://www.imagebam.com/image/3dce8657297222

Then I can see some HEX code or something when I click on "View content of this error report", but I cannot copy that and it's very long, can't even mark it.

I will reinstall all .net framework installed on my PC along with any new Windows patches/updates and post here if anything has changed. Isn't there any log file I could send you so you can see what and where stuff goes wrong?

There is a log file if the program gets to start.  This type of a problem where it can't find the proper version of dll's to run causes it to abort before the logging even gets to start.  These are the hardest bugs to track down due to the total lack or information about the crash.  I can only say that one of the files RTP needs to run is either missing or the wrong version.

Sometimes we can use dependency walker to find out what is missing.  It’s a free download if you'd like to help me investigate further.

Of course, I'd be glad to help or at least find if the it's a problem somehow I caused.

IESHIMS.DLL
WER.DLL

It says those files are missing. (I opened Dependancy Walker, added RTP.exe and this is what it gave me. That's the correct way to use the application, right?) If there's anything more I can do- just say it.
