How To Restore Default Folder Icons on Desktop (Win7-64bit)

I installed MyColors on Windows 7 64-bit and applied a theme. After noticing a problem with the title bar on IE (missing Min, Restore/Max, Close buttons) I tried to revert to Aero. Everything looks ok except the folders I have on my desktop still have the theme applied. This isn't true for folders other than the ones on my desktop. If I create a new folder it has the correct icon. Also, if I apply another theme the folders match the new theme. So the only time I see a problem is when I go back to the Aero theme. Obviously, this isn't a big deal but it is inconvenience to create new folders when going back to Aero.

I have the same problem with windows 7 32 bit. Only it affects the folders in my documents, downloads, music, etc... But if I select small icons the folders revert back to the aero icon. When I select medium or larger they are the icon of whatever the my colors theme I was using. No matter what I try, I can't get them to go back to the areo icons unless I creat a new folder.

I have had this as well but it can be fixed by Icons and Cursors tab Hilight the wrong icons and click restore default icon drop down to restore all folders or restore all windows icons - may have to do all the row of icons >desktop start folders drives etc, after that you can normally apply another theme OK once all are set back to default.

It works for me in Win 7 64 bit at least.

I'll be damn...thanks Ausvet, that worked. Problem was the Live folders icons were blank. When I double clicked on them it showed me the defaults and i was able to choose the correct ones.

CircuitsMaximus, set your icons like the ones shown in the picture below and you'll be back to normal.

Did you problem also start when applying a MyColors theme? What version of Icon Packager is that? I have Icon Packager 4 available but that doesn't show as Windows 7 compatible so I don't even know if it will install. My problem was created by MyColors so I was hoping to solve this without adding more moving parts that could be questionable with Windows 7.

Any other info you can give me will help me decide what to do next.

Thanks for the replies!

Reduced 66%

Original 873 x 660

I installed the latest Icon Packager and reset the icons.

Thanks again for your help.  Now if only the theme worked properly and didn't break the icons.

I can't even get IP 5 to restore the defaults  About half of my folder icons are from a set I applied a week ago and can't get rid of.  I am in Win 7
