Was much fun though!!!!! And fast.
It played too fast for my tastes at the beginning, though it slowed down to an acceptable speed by end of the game...and just curious, does DS always give that much money? It was like income was doubled or something.
Also, because some of the planets can take so much development (Urban worlds!!!), I think DS lends itself to maps that have a few more uncolonizable gravwells so the game becomes a bit more tactical to secure the good spots. I've made a few tailored "Map Designer" random maps that lowered the number of rare worlds vs lower quality gravwells and I find these play out quite nicely and are a bit more tactical. Just my preference, I suppose, but DS seems to lend itself to this style of play.
