One Guess: Who Wants The Web?

Is Anyone Really Surprised?

So, here we go.   This is the first I've heard of this.  Perhaps I've been too busy but the word out there says Obama wants to control the Web; making it a Washington controlled utility.   Good grief!  It's been less than a year and look what's been happening.  Can you imagine what the next three years are going to bring us?

Can't say I'm surprised.

Time will tell.

Hmmm, how does Washington control something that is worldwide? :S

Having good, reliable and fast access to the internet is all together something different.

I notice that in the upper left hand corner of the link is the word Opinion.

Fox actually rates highest in every poll for the most balanced coverage.

Crumpballs!

For the two of you who put the name of Jesus down as a swear.  Please take it off and respect that I do have a no-swear zone here.

"KFC Kickin For Christ" is hardly respectful of Christ's name.  'KFC' is 'Kentucky Fried Chicken' and thus commercialised crap food, bearing no connection to any form of Christ or religion what-so-ever.

Once your nick is revised to conform with appropriate religious mores then you 'might' have your 'no swear zone' likewise respected, but I wouldn't count on it, not with everyone's pre-occupation with the mis-interpretation of the rights of 'free speech'...;)...;)

It isn't a swear...its an exclamation. Big difference! Besides...I doubt very much if the man upstairs is gonna have a problem with it. I vote we put yrag in charge of the WEB.

More Orwellian bullshit served with a chicken entree.........

True.

I've noted that what purports to be news is actually more like "niche news". People watch one source because it "proves" their own viewpoint and exclude others because they cause discomfort. One should, ideally, research various issues in the printed as they tend to do more complete research. Fact checking organizations (when truly objective) can also be helpful...sort of a "Snopes".

As time goes by, our society is simply fragmenting more and more.

Only negative events such as 9/11 seem to be capable of bringing us "together".

In reality, all they do is substitute one type of anger for another...much like the effort to "cure finger nail biting" results in some other self destructive gesture.

Here's another way:

Step 1: Get in touch with your anger. Witness your agitated internal dialog or mind chatter and feel the sensations in your body. This very act will allow your feelings to fade. Suppressing or pushing down your anger, on the other hand, simply causes your resentment to grow.

Step 2: Identify the nature of your anger. Who are you angry with? A friend? A spouse or other family member? A co-worker? People are often angry at G-d for the tragedy, illnesses, and deaths that happen in the world. Or you might be angry at yourself for something you’ve done―or for not doing something you think you should have.

Step 3: Now ask yourself: “What am I anxious or fearful about that causes me to react in anger? What need do I have that isn’t being met and is causing me to feel fearful and angry? How might I act to fulfill that need? (If you’d like to learn effective communication skills for requesting what you need, I recommend Marshall Rosenberg’s book Nonviolent Communication).

Step 4: Take some action to express and release the anger: throw stones at the ocean, use a plastic bat to pound a pillow, dance in a screaming frenzy. Physical activity is an extremely powerful way to let go of anger and stress, and I encourage you to find a regular physical outlet, such as swimming, dancing, yoga, cycling, or even just brisk walking.

This is not "Kumbaya", nor very easy to do.

Just offered in Community  spirit  as a path toward a healthier and happier way of  coping with  reaction to the events which seem only to bring out the worst.

Just trying to help make chicken salad from....

Please don't jump me for trying to help. That's one of my Step 3's.

trusting Fox News on Obama news is like asking KFC for advice on the ethical treatment of chickens.

Jesus.

Google it: The Cybersecurity Act of 2009, S. 778

I love how it begans:

8  SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
9       The Congress finds the following:
10     (1) America’s failure to protect cyberspace is
11     one of the most urgent national security problems
12     facing the country.

...

Things only get done 'after the fact'. Its like asking...how many have to die first? Proof is in the pudding. Go figure.

It isn't a swear...its an exclamation.

to be technical it's taking the Lord's name in vain.  In our vernacular that's swearing.

a man on a cross once said "Always look on the bright side of life"

he also said you will have trials and tribulations and told us to look out for the A.C.  because then we will know the time is drawing near.

"KFC Kickin For Christ" is hardly respectful of Christ's name. 'KFC' is 'Kentucky Fried Chicken' and thus commercialised crap food, bearing no connection to any form of Christ or religion what-so-ever.

my initials (name) KFC has nothing to do with chicken.

Crumpballs!

thanks VStyler.  You've got style afterall!

control the web???. Next thing you know we will have security checks at rest rooms and background reports before you take a dump. This is all getting slightly ridiculous. I partly blame the media for their unceasing scare campaigns and the constant state of fear that they insist on keeping people in.

three words:

China..... Olympics..... Internet.

Now take those three words'  mix them up any which way putting them in a sentence etc and do a google search.  Come back and give us another answer.

But please keep it brief...I'm afraid you're going to run into hundreds of links.

Now...remember who owns the U.S?

I partly blame McCarthy.... his 'commies under the bed' thing has never left us.... and now "everyone is out to get us."

Sometimes... in fact often, it's the enemy within. *_*

Now...remember who owns the U.S?

More like who thinks they own the US. You can only believe what you know and/or have found and truly understand.

Ah, but it isn't 'free and open', hence the "missing" comment 13. When a thread is edited to make the Op look good/whatever it's time to walk away from the train wreck of tripe that it has become.

I'm glad we have resources like Fox News.  Without them, billions of my tax dollars would have been spent on criminal organizations like ACORN.
