A lot of people I know are going abroad on holiday this xmas. There was a time when everyone would be at home, round the fire, eating mince pies etc. Maybe it's the way of the world now, who knows, but a lot of the excitement we used to have this time of year seems lost forever.

So what do you do? Stay at home or go away?

I'm not going anywhere. I shall sit quietly with a bottle of port and some fruit cake, like I always do...

Not a fruit cake fan, but the port sounds like a good plan!

I'll be working on all the important days, ...backpackers don't slow down for anyone. It's all party, party, party, go go go... lol

They're a demanding lot, these budget travellers ...and someone's gotta keep 'em happy!

If I went away this time of year, I'd get fired! Living in the mid atlantic part of the country, and being a heating technician, need I say more. Besides that, my family has always gathered around the holidays. Christmas away wouldn't be christmas! That port does sould good.

I'll be staying home and getting together with family for christmas. Same as every year. But for the first time ever, we have the tree up early Now to get heaps of presents under it for the kids I enjoy christmas more now that my children are old enough to truly enjoy it.

The plan was to travel to visit my family and the in-laws over the Christmas break (yes, I am still a student), but things changed and we needed to go out there over Thanksgiving. So Christmas will be a mellow time at home, nothing too much to do, just goofing around, relaxing and studying for the boards.

I stay home and spend x-mas eve at my house with my family, then we go over to my husbands Aunt's house.  Then x-mas morning is at home, then we go visit people.  I can't imagine not being "home" for the holidays.

Christmas morn' is with the kids and then it's off to the grandparents. Just good to be with the family for the holidays.

Starting somewhere the week before Christmas through the week after, we make the rounds to all the parents houses. My wife and I, both being in retail, never seem to have many days off together. This year we were lucky and are gonna be able to hit all three places, Manch-Vegas (Manchester, NH) and The Coast on Christmas Eve and Craney Hill (Redneck Country ) on Christmas Day.
