Problems downloading WB7

Hey there, Im completely new with stardock products, seems promising.

I just bought the normal OD pack today and since I got Windows 7 I would like to try the new WB7 beta. When I go to my software and select WB7 -> Install I simply get an error message saying "Error: Problem writing file" or "Error: Error retrieving data" . I can download and install every other stardock product fine.

Either I get the error message or it downloads a 35,7mb file where it should actually download a 197,86mb file according to Impulse. After it finishes download with the smaller file it just says "file size is smaller than expected".

I turned off firewalls, etc. to see if that should help, but still the same issue. Any help / tips is very appreciated.

Thanks :-)

Yeah, well. As I said I can download it sometimes, but just says that file size is to small and my only option is to "retry" the download.

Kinda ironic to me that the free programs downloads just fine, but a product I payed for wont.

You have probably done this but did you have the free version of WBs and did you uninstall it before installing the full version?

Are you having any problems with other updates or downloads?

With Impulse open click on the Icon in the upper left hand corner and click Preferences, then click on 'rsset data'.  Let Impulse do it's thing and then restart it.

If that doesn't fix it open WBs and set it to the OS default skin.  Uninstall WBs, run a clean up program like CCleaner and reboot, reinstall WBs and reboot one more time.

If that doesn't work then you need to email [email protected] and start a support ticket.

I have the same issue. I logged into impulse, an update for WB7 popped up and I tried downloading it and got the "file size is smaller than expected" error a few times. So I uninstalled WB7 to try it again and it still will not install. So now I have the default aero skin...Hope this is fixed soon, Thanks.

I'm also getting the same "File downloaded is smaller than expected" error.  Thanks for looking into it!
