Update galaxy forge

So, if they are finally updating sins and entrenchment again, why don't they update Galaxy Forge some more. Right now, i have the latest updates for sins and entrenchment, and the galaxy forge will not work on my computer. If you sould, please give some advice.

Well, first some forums advice, the off topic section is shared with many other game forums that are published by stardock (not just sins), so you should probably put threads like this in the modding or general section.

As for your question, the Galaxy Forge requires that you have the .NET framework (at least 3.5), and this is usually the reason why people can't run it correctly. In fact you can use the Galaxy Forge without having Sins or Entrenchment on your computer anyways!

That said, a new version of galaxyforge is needed to fix some of its bugs.  It's particularly crashy when you start mucking around with templates.

While they're at it, they should add "RandomMilitia" and "Pirate" to the spawn as category. It a same to have such a beautiful GUI mapmaker and still have to do some things in TXT format.

Also, the Forge is very much behind in terms of having support for all the planet bonuses and artifacts, but I've added them myself if anyone wants them.

Okay, when i go to the downloads section of my computer( i have windows xp) i see the galaxy forge icon. When i double click it, all i get is a message saying that my computer can't run it, and asking weather i want to go online to find the program, or select it from a list. What do i do? Karma to whoever helps

Right click on the galaxy forge and hit properties. What type of file is it? It should say application. If it does then for some reason your computer can't figure out how to run .exe's and that just shouldn't happen. Though again, make sure you have your .NET framework updated! (to at least 3.5)

Ya, I use 7z, but any decent unzip program will be able to extract it for you.

Once you install a program like 7zip (7z is a file type my bad), right click on it it should give you an option to extract it. Once it is extracted you should be able to run it.
