Stardock Account Change Notification

Hi, I just recieved an email from Stardock, telling me that as from now on everybody needs an unique nickname, I had to change my nickname, because it's alredy in use. So chuntering but complying I head to the account management and just out of stubbornness I hit the "update" button without changing anything and all I recieve is a "updates saved". Shouldn't there be an error message telling me, my nick is already in use? And if not, does that mean that I don't have to change my nick because for some reason, it's not used twice?

 

PS: just another thing: your account management seems unable to cope with umlauts, maybe you should fix that.

If you sent in an email about your nickname, please bear with me, as I'm working through them as fast as I can.  Most of the emails I'm getting are from issues like Shirley mentioned, and from things like people having multiple accounts with the same username and not realizing it, or recreating an account because they no longer had access to the email address they initially used.  In cases like these, you won't have to change your username, I just need to double check everything, which gets time consuming.

But fear not, there's plenty of coffee here.

Sinon: I looked into your account, and you're in the clear.  Sorry about the trouble, keep on keepin' on.

Anyone else, though, shoot an email to [email protected] with the title "Nickname" and I'll get to it as soon as I can.  Include any and all email addresses you may have used, as well as your full name.  It will speed up the process.

Could you have a look into mine as well? I did a search, and only found my topics-posts. Also I have been using this nick since 1999, would hate to have to change it.

I sent a mail to support, but no responce since yesterday.

Maybe IF there is a person with my nick he is nonactive?

Are we also going to get to use our permanent/uniqe names in the chat now? It's a mess that people can change at will.

I'm not the only one, but I'm handling the bulk of them.

As for the chat in Impulse, it's based on IRC, and being able to change your nickname is kind of one of the selling points of IRC.  My name there is currently Rosco_WootOff (as there is currently a Woot Off going on...).  It more or less comes with the territory, but I'd suggest having fun with it.  If you see a Rosco_TwitchingFromTooMuchCoffee later, that's probably me.
