[Warlord's Punisher] 1.5->1s cast time

Worthless buff. still a worthless item. I posted this in a different thread, read below:

The below is from information off of demigoddb.com i know the site isn't completely up to date, but are these numbers legit? Because if they are the item is still useless and the game still does not have a viable mana drain option.

Big Problem:

if you constantly use warlords as a harassment tool like mana burn was for a demon hunter in warcraft, that's pretty awesome. I did some math though. A rook at level 5 with scaled helm and plenor will regen 13.46 mana a second. Warlords cooldown is 30 seconds and hits for -400 mana. So if you hit a guy for -400 mana with warlords, his mana will regen that 400 back in..... 29.7 seconds :( in other words, you get the mana back even before warlords hits again, and thats even if every 30 seconds on the dot you blast him with the item........... man this sucks. And this item just got buffed? are you forreal? If it was a favor item, i could understand, but a 2250 trinket? The item is obsolete the minute you can afford it.

Also, all of these numbers are assuming they DO NOT have control of the mana flag.

P.S. Please tell me my numbers are off

playgroundlegend, Please, stop trying to help. Creating an entire post about an item, recently buffed, that is filled with conjecture about numbers you aren't even sure of, is really just going to dilute a thread intended to be high impact.

If you're not also suggesting that mana potions be removed from the game then you tacitly acknowledge that players do run out of mana. The punisher makes them run out faster and may deprive a player of mana at a critical point if you surprise them.

It's also modified by cooldown flags, Inspiring Presence, and the Staff of Renewal (and Stormbringer if you ever get that far), and it does a reasonable burst of AoE damage and gives +30 weapon damage. It's not a bad item, but there is an issue with health stacking in general trumping other item combinations and the underusage of niche items like this is kind of collateral damage.

Best favor

All assassins

All general

Blood of the fallen

Swift Anklet

Amulet of teleportation

Cape of plentiful mana

Wings of the seraphim

Worthless favor

Bejeweled googles: add something else then just radius. Maybe HPS/MPS.

Charm of life: Maybe death penalty reduced by 15% instead of 10%. We can get death penalty lvl1 at citadel for 600 gold.

Brillant  bauble: we can get xp at citadel for 120 gold. Add something with this 10% exp.

Magical coin pounch: reduced cost item by 10%. LOL....on 8k u save 800 gold. So....on 400 gold...40 gold. pretty useless. Increase %

Symbol of purity: I dont know if its a good or bad favor. never use it.

Staff of the warmage: +15 weapon is not a lot. Blade of the serpent is better, less expensive and it got an ability.

Dark crimson vial: 33% health back...5k hp = 1650 hp back. low ho pot five 750 in 0.5sec. Maybe reduced the cast

Diamond pendant: increase to 15% cooldown.

Saam-el's cloak: 5% movement speed and cant reduced move speed for 25%. Peaple counter this with wand of speed. Maybe give me move speed.

Armor

Best are: Scaled, branded, Nimoth, haubert, Groffing, Godplate

Useless are: Dueslist (too expensive), Vengeance ( need health too ;p), plate is kind of bugged to me. ppl said it give 100 armor.....i saw 1000. But 1% is too low for the price we spend.

Helmet

Best are: Scaled, Plenor, Vlemish, Hungarling

Useless are: Plate visor (35% MPS..900 more and u got plenor), Theurgist ( i think i saw only AI used it), Winling (3% is too low)

Boots

Best are: Boot of speed, unbreakable, journeyman

Useless are: Footman (need more health/mana for 600 gold), assassin (need something else then dodge), ironwalkers (useless ability), desperate (too expensive)

Gloves

Best are: gauntlet of brutality, wyrmskin, slayer's wrap, gauntlet of despair

Useless are: gladiator (5% atk speed = 0.3. like 1.35 to 1.32 WOW ;p),  doomspite (cleavage attack useless. Almost all demi got something for that. Maybe add something else or lower the price)

Trinkets

Best are: Sludge, wand of speed, nature's reckoning, warlord's punisher, magnus rod, ring of the ancient, orb of defiance, narmoth's ring,

Useless are: forest band (other item do this), bloodstone (3% is nothing. 3% of 250 damage = ??? ;p), twig of life (too expensive), parasite egg (slayer's wrap do the same without the ability and less expensive), warpstone (lol at price, yard. Teleport is better ;p)

Symbol of purity: I dont know if its a good or bad favor. never use it.

slightly decrease its cooldown, but not by too much. 5 secs maybe?

Brillant bauble: we can get xp at citadel for 1200 gold. Add something with this 10% exp.

give it another passive or a use. exp hording isnt gonna do anything in the long run.

TBH, i believe the fairest favor item system would be to make every favor item cost the same amount of favor and try make every item equally useful. Then its just up to player skill, and not "whos got the most favor item to buy the most elite favor item out there".

(Quote):  "Magical coin pounch: reduced cost item by 10%. LOL....on 8k u save 800 gold. So....on 400 gold...4 gold. pretty useless. Increase %"

(i guess you just made mistake with that 4 gold, its 40 of course) ;)

anyway, the biggest problem with Pouch is this (imho):

(I'll better explain it with an example), so imagine you're buying a godplate normally (without pouch); you'll spend 10000 gold, and if you are (just suppose this) selling it back, you'll get 8000 back.  Now, with pouch you will buy it for 9000 (and therefore save 1000 g), but when you sell it you wont get 8000 gold back(!), but just 7200 (which is, of course, 80% of buying cost); and that is stupid and major problem for 'magic' pouch. If that pouch was REALLY MAGIC you would resell it(godplate) for its usual 8000 gold, if not even for THE SAME COST you bought it!

I think that would be nice buff for that favor item.

What do you all think?

All of you here say that a lot of bad things and that nobody buys. I propose to make them stronger.
For example:

Staff of the warmage: +15 weapon is not a lot. Blade of the serpent is better, less expensive and it got an ability.

Maybe he is too strong? maybe it's worth to change 75% to 50% or 30%?

I personally think: a lot of things are too strong compared with others.
Almost all suggested that there would disbalance.
need to revise the very popular thing, and then think about the little popular.
as it was with "Heart of Life"

P.S. google english

A little discussion on Favor Items:

I really believe that  a favor item operates as a distinguishing element for a build.  The difference between, for instance, a Blade of the Serpent Beast, and a Blood of the Fallen Beast can be big, EVEN IF THEY USE THE SAME SKILLS!

In that vein, I think favor items should allow for another of customization, and should try to allow a DG to focus on a different aspect of their build.  The Coin purse should be a truly valuable ally for someone who is trying to out-gear the enemy specifically. As it is, the small cash boost from the purse doesn't compare to the raw value of an item that gives bonus'.  That is, how much gold does the purse give compare to what it would cost to 'buy' a blood of the Fallen?

On that note, here are some changes I'd make:

Item/Mechanical Theme: New Effect

  • Coin Purse/Item Focus: -15% cost of items, and -75 gold cost to consummables.
  • Mard's Hammer/DG Killing: Existing effect and +50% gold and XP from killing a Demigod.
  • Tome of Endurance/Sturdy Army of Minions: Existing Effects and + 400 Minion Armor and +5 hps for minions
  • Blood Soaked Wand/Support Healer: Existing Effect and +300 Armor
  • Totem of War/General and Army focus on attack: Existing Effects and 10% chance for minions to Crit for 2x damage.
  • Bejewelled Goggles/Strategic Planning: Existing Effects and Can activate to lock a flag for 15 seconds (60 second cooldown)
  • Symbol of Purity/Resistence to debuffs: Existing effect and -.3 seconds off any stun effect that hits you.
  • Charm of Life/Suicide Tactics: +400 Health, -25% death penalty, you award only half the normal XP and Gold when you die.
  • Staff of Warmage/Generic Combat Caster: +25 damage, +700 mana, and +8 mana per second.
  • Dark Crimsons Vial/Regeneration: 6% Life Steal, USE: Heals 33% of total health, cast in 1.5 seconds, 45 second cooldown.
  • Diamond Pendant/Caster Specialization: Existing Effects and -15% cost of spells.
  • Brilliant Bauble/Long Term Strategy: +15% Experience, -25% cost to Citadel upgrades. +100% to flag capture Speed.
  • Sam's Cloak/Unstoppable: Existing effects and USE: Gain immunity to stun and interrupts for 15 seconds, .5 second cast, 90 second cooldown.

Just some ideas for both strategic goal, as well as a possible implementation. Some of the exact numbers may need tweaking, but my point was to demonstrate a roster of items that would all be useable, and would give a very diverging list of actual uses.

The problem with favor items in general is that they are scaled in power based on cost.  Thus, it makes sense for a Charm of Life to be weaker than Blood of the Fallen since it is cheaper.  However, once you can afford BotF, it makes no sense ever using the Charm again, and it thus becomes obsolete.  As someone suggested before, all favor items should be the same cost in favor points and all improved to reflect the equal costs.

Alternatively, there could be two tiers of favor items (maybe half for 1000 favor and the other half for 2000 favor points) and the usefulness of the items based on this two-tier cost system.  A third option would be to have basic favor items all cost the same thing, while specialized items for generals or assassins could cost more.  If this kind of tiered system is adopted, I think that favor points should be reset to zero, but each player given just enough favor (say, 2000) to buy one item.  This would make it so that new players are not initially disadvantaged because they can't afford a 1000 or 2000 favor item.

If im going pure DPS Regulus I always take Wards Hammer over Blade of the Serpent - as mana is never an issue. +15 more weapon damage and 5% attack speed isnt bad at all :)
