Are the queues still going through?  Or should we be worried if we preordered and did not get an email yet?

What?!? I'm paying 50 bucks for an old DOS game?!? 8C

Just kidding...

BETA 1 downloaded and installed just fine. I'll take a closer look after work. The ambient music is nice...

An old DOS game would be pretty sweet.

DOS, schmosh. Real games are built with PEEK and POKE.

Hehe, great birthday present for me (it's Sep 18 in Australia now), thanks Stardock!

Unfortunately I will be busy partying like an idiot tonight so wont get any testing done until tomorrow :(

If that title screen was the actual screen from the game, Elemental just became a new level of awesome.

Anyway, so if I pre-order the game today, as in right now, I can still get into the Beta?

THAT really is the title screen for beta 1.

Died laughing when the EGA stuff started up. Funny stuff. :)

Amazing to see the advances in graphics in the one game, too. Looking very good. :)

I demand as a paying customer you keep a modified version of this as Elemental's retail intro.

I agree.  Or at least have the option to throw something like /8bitintro into a shortcut to run using it as the intro instead.

Wow that brings back memories of sitting in front of the old Apple II :)

The title screen needs to stick around somewhere in the finished game - perhaps as an easter egg.

So how does this build compare to the skeleton gameplay 1A build you said was to be released Oct 1st?

I smell a mod btw :)

Frogboy, you are a filthy liar. The beta is fun (but not for long).

I guess you're just too used to playing a more awesome version.

You can get into Beta 1 if you pre-order before the end of September.  After that you have to wait for Beta 2.

The tugging on my heart strings and the flood of memories of Master of Magic. I couldn't think of a better way to start it.

/look left.

You see a DOS graphic for the first time in years.  You remember the first DOS game you ever played and smile.

Epic stuff. :D

Haha, just finished up a game. Loving it, the humourous little touches here and there - which are probably going to be removed as they're mostly about justifying the unfun nature of the Beta - are a treat.
