Sweet! This is great news. I'm glad I just put my pre-order in, I can't wait to get my hands on the game.
It'll be good to get back into the Stardock Beta Process again. Last time I did a beta for them was with the original Galciv2.

I was just wondering, how much guidence we beta tester will get. Because i have to admit, this is my first closed beta, and i'd like to be of some geniune use. Maybe one of de GC2-beta veterans can shed some light on the subject.
Finally!! I've been dying to play this...thought I'd already be playing it (wasn't it supposed to be released during/after PAX?) but at least it's almost here! WHOOT!
And wouldn't you know it, my gaming laptop waits until now to short out its transformer........ no juice, no battery, no nada......

Uh...completely out of context. Next week I get my XBox back and can finally play Batman:AA. 
So, will it happend on the same day? the Beta, and you getting your X-box?
Seriosuly though, the beta's looking great...any alpha users should be getting a pre-Beta to test a few days prior to the official release, so if you're in that group keep an ear open.
Ah... er... So the Batman thing is serious and there is no beta next week or it's an elaborate joke?
Yes, we're shooting for next week....no promises, but it's looking good.
Is this the cloth map only beta, or did that (alpha?) already happen?
Cool, thanks, just curious =) I'm having a debate on whether to beta the game and provide feedback to make the game (in my opinion of course) better, or if I want to hold off and see the finished product in all it's glory.
