How well would you play this game setup?

I'm playing only my second complete game. My first was cakewalk/Evil and was pretty easy. This is my second:

1. Tiny Galaxy

2. Galaxy setting "occasional" or "normal".

3. Playing as Yor

4. 9 opponents with normal intelligence.

What would be a typical time to complete and score?

That would be easy, but i would never complete a score!

Once the AI no longer challenges me, i get bored very fast. Honestly, i definately have better things to do than sit around playing with troop transports to final victory. I have all other victory conditions swiched off because one time i was in the middle of a very interesting game and suddenly lost! I don't need that crap.

Time to complete really depends on a lot of factors:
- technology victory for example typically takes much longer than conquest or alliance
- conquering others will increase your production, economy, etc. often faster than by playing a peaceful game

The score also depends on the victory type (for example military score gets the highest multiplier); key in increasing your score is getting economy, production, military up faster.
The score depends on difficulty level as well; from my old games I see military victories in tiny galaxies with scores of 6000 - 8000 and non-military victories of around 3000 - 4000 but that was on slightly higher difficulties. Though at that time I played rather slow games, so you could very well beat those scores.
All of that is of course assuming that you don't play for score purposes only - some people will leave the AI with 1 planet and pull out all kinds of tricks to increase their score further after the game is already won.

Feel free to post back if you want to discuss further.

Nocticulus that was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. Thanks very much. But I'm no longer playing that setup. I'm in this weird limbo where I'm trying scenarios to learn the game, but as I learn the game I get better and an experiment usually turns into a serious game.

Right now I'm on the largest map in DL as Terran with 9 normal opponents and very few habitable planets. I only want to manage a handfull of planets for now. But as it is now a military victory is taking the lead based on current percentages. But I just started acquiring techs through trade so I expect the game to change direction. I don't know what's going to happen and it's pretty exciting.

Originally I was just trying to get a general idea of expected score in a particular set of conditions. But now I'm wondering if a military victory is possible without battles. The other night, unexpectedly, a civ surrendered to me even though I was not at war with them. So here I am. I'm not a point whore-yet.

Tech trading is essential in keeping up with or staying ahead of the AIs; they also trade actively between one another.
Having the highest military rating helps tremendously in keeping the AIs from attacking you, so it's often best to have a decent military rating even if you want to play peacefully.

Knowing what score to expect is very hard as it depends so much on many of the initial settings, as well as how the game plays out. People keep pushing the barriers of what scores can be achieved, so there's always room for improvement.

Not sure whether it's possible to have a military victory without actually fighting, once the last civilization surrenders to you it might lead to an influence victory instead, I wouldn't know...
