Fences expired

I'm getting a notification by fences stating:

As noted during download (uh... no, it wasn't noted anywhere I could see ;) ), this community preview beta of Fences was set to expire on November 1st 2009...

Need more update ;)

Oh, I got an update notification, and I installed it, but it didn't do any good. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling again just in case.

What version are you using?

It's called a nag-screen
It occurs every boot-up (and maybe per login as well?)

Please Stardock, fix this ASAP.

It's very annoying...

ah v0.99 is out, will check to if this fixes this issue...
If not I'll post it here

NOPE! v0.99 nags at boot
Also when you open fences...

I guess I'll set my computers clock back untill this is resolved.

Same problem, Installed last version, but every boot or Fences start I had the message that the beta is supposed to been expired the first of November. Maybe is the day you choose....

Same problem here also and this is a new install.  Says it will expire November 2009 and will now run in reduced functionality.

Yep. Yesterday I did a Fences update through Impulse.

Today I booted up and got the reminder screen mentioned above. Went to labs.stardock.com and downloaded, rebooted and got the same reminder screen all over again.

What's up?

I get the following notification with v0.99 as well when updated through Impulse on system startup-

Looks like somethign went wonky.  Looking into it now.

Fences should continue to function though.

Was using 0.98.  Got the update/expiry notice today (though the message indicates November 1, so the notice text is wrong as well), updated to 0.99 and rebooted.  Got the notice again.

Issues:

1) Notification appears to be two months too early.

2) Notification indicates updating will resolve the issue.  After updating, and rebooting, the notification continues to appear.

3) Unlike OldMsgt's post indicates, my notification path indicates http://labs.stardock.com/Fences has the latest version.

4) Impulse client has link for Fences "History", which normally contains patch notes.  The information there is out-dated.  This also makes it difficult to confirm whether or not I did actually get a full and proper installation of 0.99.

Bug identified and resolution pending.  It should not effect the application itself though.

so 0.99 expires on Nov 1...

what's the problem with that.. it even says it on the Fences page:

Get it!

Fences v0.99 Community-Preview Beta - FREE
Use the download button to get your copy of Fences.
(Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is a pre-requisite for installation.)
This release is a beta / community preview, and will expire on November 1, 2009.
Fences is free and will remain free ; we hope to have a Pro version with even more features available later this year.

It's good that you felt compelled to participate in the community.  You didn't really understand the topic though.

The fact that it is only September 1st

Last update worked on mine no more expired message

and it actually expired and quit working?

or you just read the message and freaked?

Why is it freaking out if people come on site and point out error with product.

It happened do you want everyone to pretend it did not how would that help anyone.

understood - but as far as I could tell it was just an erroneous message - from a beta - no big deal - didn't keep it from working as it should

yet people are posting like it actually expired

Who's freaking out? Seems like a bunch of bug reports to me. Isn't that what a beta is all about? :D

It's not that the program quits working.... It only works in "Reduced Functionality Mode"

Not that it matters, as it's working fine now ;)
