How to change font's colors

Fonts in a skin

 Hello Skinners,

I got a very beautiful skin and would like to modify 1 thing with WB 6.4 settings or with skin studio. How could I change color of all texts in all menus from black to white because it is now  invisibles on dark grey menu's background ?
:erk:
Is there a skinner artist here who coul help me ?
Many thanks.

Go to "Change Color" section in Skin Studio and there is a drop down menu under "Pick A Colour From Below" -  Choose "Show me the skin defined system colours", then change the Menu Text color to what you want.

Hello,

I have done exately that in Skin studio, then "apply changes" ==> got no change, the menu text stayed in black. Do you have an idea ? (tested 3 times without results) :|

Many thanks, Chris "Eagle" F.

Try this:

In WB 6:  Click on the colours tab on the toobar (next to visual styles).  In that window, click on Change system colours.  In the next window, there will be a drop down menu that has various colors used in the blind.  Scroll down to the Menu text...hopefully, it will show to be black.  Highlight it, and then click on the change colour button...make your change. close out of that window, and then click on the Apply Changes in the Colours window.  If that doesn't work, you would then probably have to go into the blind itself in Skin Studio and make the changes there for each menu.

Hello,

I thank you very much for help. I have done it... nos results. X| All other modifications works well except change of colours.

I will leave that issue for instant cause I'm too busy with other business.

The skin is "Pressurized" if you want to test it.

Best regards

Let me ask you this.  First, are you using Vista or XP, second, since Pressurized is for the most part monochrome, can you tell me specifically which menu you're seeing this the most on.  Also, are you sure your monitor doesn't need to be calibrated or something, because I find the menus in Pressurized to be extremely visible and readable, and I have pretty shitty eyesight.

As a little experiment, try going into Skin Studio, navigate to Edit Controls-->Edit Menus and Menubars-->Menu Item-->Text-->Text Colour, where there is a drop down menu, and change that color to something outlandish like lime green or something; then do that to all the rest of the menu item sections in Edit Menus section and see if THAT is where you would change the particular menu text you want to change is.

I sent an email to the Pressurized author. Xiandi.  Maybe she can help.  :star:

Xp or Vista? What OS are you using? Which Style are you using? Which menus are you finding hard to read? A screenshot would be helpful, or a good description of what menu you cant read.

I'm glad you like the skin!

Hello Xiandi, nice to meet you.:)

Many thanks for reply. I am using : VISTA HOME PREMIUM SP2 . I used the default Vista style before skinning. When a window is open covered all the screen, eg. IE or Firefox or every opened window, the top menus (files, edition, favorites, tools ..etc) are note well readable, because the menu background is dark grey and the menu text is black.

I just wanted to change the color of all menu texts to a light one to make them more readable !

Your skin is very nice. The best one of the moment. thanks for help. :D

I tried it => the menu text became white (very well !) BUT the button's text became also white and less readable because it is white on light grey (silver) button's background ... it's crazy :jafo:  ...  If I was in my plane I think I should press the eject button (if readable), mayday... mayday :(O

Many thanks again ;)

Welcome to font hell.  Not only do you have to figure out which section of Skin Studio the color is contained in, but you also have to figure out which OTHER parts that color is associated with.  In my opinion, it's the hardest part of creating skins.

Several fonts \ colors are shared in WB, change one , it changes elsewhere, just something you have to learn to master as it can change from skin to skin depending on design.

Good luck!

This is correct if you are trying to change the menus in the shot above. It will not change the color of the button text.

Here is where it is in SKS6:
