Political Compass

I invite you to tale the test

http://www.politicalcompass.org/
This is an interesting website. Link There are six web pages of questions about where you would tend to stand on a presented issue. When you finish the test, an explanation of the compass is given, and you are compared to a few world leaders as to where you might stand. Needless to say, I pointed toward the liberal, and the leader I would likely follow is Gandhi. Give it a try. It may provide some interesting discussions.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.87

Cool site dabe, Thanks

I'm a little economicly to the right of Paul Martin. Thats about where I thought I would be.

I did wish there was a middle group though. There was another poll someone had a few months ago and I was basicly labeled a jack booted thug. But I like this one better because the questions was more leveled.

Thanks again.

Here is what mine looked like. Just as I thought.

Economic Left/Right: 1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.26
Actually, I am not sure how unbiased or true this site is because it showed me much closer to John Kerry than George Bush! LOL

Mine was also just as I thought:

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -5.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.03

In terms of world leaders, I was closest to the Dalai Lama. In presidential candidates, no one was really close. I was economically slightly closer to Nader than the Socialist Party's Walt Brown, but more Libertarian than all the candidadtes (including, ironically, Michael Badnarik of the Libertarian Party). I was closest to Nader, but still far off because I was in the Libertarian extreme (or looney bottom-left, I guess)

I didn't write down my scores, unfortunately. I dunno why not. But, as I said, I am pretty far off to the bottom left of the compass, putting me closest to Gandhi, and also to the Dalai Lama and Nader, though I would not vote for Nader.

I found this interesting because the compass put Kerry and Bush rather close together. I guess I knew this, given that Kerry is really a rather moderate democrat, and not the liberal left whacko that the righties made him out to be. Oh well, seems kind of moot now.
