It has been crazy to hear about the CIA interrogation techniques that have surfaced in the past few weeks. This issue has been really hard for me to wrestle with. Not necessarily their methods of interrogation but the question of how should interogation be done.

Obviously men in 5.11 pants toting drills that are not being used for putting in wood floors is not acceptable. Articles report mock excecutions happening to scare prisoners into giving up information. There is no doubt that these reports are just the beginning and are only scratching the surface. There is no doubt that prisoners were beaten to a point of having to use a handicap bathtub for the rest of their lives. Sometimes there are things that America does not want to hear, and news sources don't want to report.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for mercy, finding a way to love people in the midst of evil. The question becomes how would Jesus talk to prisoners who might have information that would lead to the saving of thousands of lives? He is perfect in the way he deals with everyone, even the most evil of criminals, so trying to figure out how he would deal with interrogation is a great thing to seek to discover. I certainly don't have the answer but can rest assured that no type of violence would be used, and He wouldn't use lies or deception. I imagine He would get angry, but not like we do. He would have a truly righteous anger, that surpassed emotional understanding. It's interesting to wonder how Jesus would interrogate.

Interesting. As a person who is not very religious, I won't speculate on any "what if" that Jesus may or may not do. With my limited knowledge of religious readings, I will speculate what his "Dad" would do. Perhaps a plague, or pestilence. Make it rain fire. Kill their first born male children. Or if he was really pissed, just flood the earth.

Wow, when you put it that way maybe we were not so mean to the terrorists. You left out the part where HE ordered the Isrialites to kill every man woman and child, the livestock, even pets were killed, and leave no two stones piled one on the other. You sure you want to piss him off? 8(|

Well I was just relying on my limited knowledge of all things religious. If I felt as strongly as some, I'd be less worried about Jesus and more worried about his Pop.

I fully understand what you mean. Think of it this way if you will, When America gets mad, nations tremble, people die. When GOD gets upset nations fall, everyone dies. Noah and the flood quickly comes to mind. This is why when we were attacked though we have a host of enemies only Iraq and terror organizations applauded. Everyone else got real quiet and stood up saying "it wasn't me!"

WWII was started because everyone was peace happy. Only Winston Churchill understood the dangers that were coming but the people wanted peace not the truth. After WWII there was extensive research as to why America was not figured into the Axis war plans. Here are the results in paraphrase.

According to the Germans, America had a weak president; the population voiced peace rather than war. Newsreels showed the army doing war games using cardboard machineguns and airplanes dropping flour sacks for bombs. We used trucks to simulate tanks and we mothballed most of the navy. It was estimated that it would take a minimum of five years for America to get its industry geared for war, and ten years to field a credible army.

In Japan it was reasoned that America was weak as a nation, Americans don’t work as a team and we were politically divided. It was reasoned that if attacked America would sue for peace at all costs rather than fight back. The lone voice against this reasoning was Admiral Yamamoto who had actually been to America and understood how America really was. He was the planner for the attack on Pearl Harbor. He told the high council that for 6 months to a year Japan would be unstoppable, but if they could not get America to sue for peace by then Japan would lose.  

Weakness is what they saw, the weak must be subjugated the same mistake is being made by terrorist organizations today along with Iran and North Korea. Americans wince at the sight of the same violence these people have grown up with. For them it is a part of live like swatting a bug. They don’t see that America can be united in minutes if pissed off. Iran saw it and knows but it also knows that if given enough time America will tire and walk away from a fight as proven by Korean war, Vietnam war, and this current war on terror. WWII Japan believed the same thing which was why they tried to out last us in hopes of ending the war rather than surrender. With our political infighting we present a picture of a nation divided and weak. (AGAIN) I expect another attack starting on September 9th of this year starting in the UK. 911 is our emergency number and 999 is the emergency number in the UK. This is what I believe they are waiting for. We have a president that is weak and inexperienced that wants to negotiate rather than fight. The UK has a Prime Minister giving off the same feelings. Russia wants to become the only world power so they have been messing with us and so has China, and we have done nothing to change the view that this time we are weak enough to be defeated. There is a peace movement that screams we should never fight in a war and they have the ear of the President and the Prime Minister.

They just need a way of attacking us without pissing us off. Our intelligence services are under fire at home which will blind us to their moves just like when Iran took our embassy. We are setting ourselves up for another attack.
