I was just about to ask "hey, where's the update on Elemental news?"
I get the feeling there may be a lot of vertical lasers in this game 
provided you're talking about laser's per screen, rather than laser's per map (since a large map would have MANY MANY nodes... err, crystals on them) then I suspect there will be less than there were in Black and White. That game could get so many town center shrines in one screen.
I kinda like the verticle laser look. At least for epicenter's of magical power.
They're just not panning the camera high enough to show the UFOs.
