Console wireless connection query

I have a G Wireless router. Now both my brothers 360 and my ps3 both cant connect to this thing wirelessy. I think it may be because Its type G and not A or B. Anybody know whats happening?

Have you tried a firmware upgrade?

actually both 360 and ps3's wireless is wireless g so it should be picked up by the router, are there any cordless phones or floors between the devices?

for example, my wii and the wireless router is 1 floor apart in my living room and the wii connection is only 1/4 of the full strength and router is quite new

My suggestion is to recheck your router's wireless settings first

@dsjack- I could and I've been using one but my room is on the otherside of the house so I need a 50 foot one and its annoying to have it snake through the house.

@Psuedomelon- I have very recent firmware and its not that as its been unable to do this with the xbox and wii for years.

@mooster- There is a cordless house phone right next to the router. I doubt thats causing the problems though as my computer is in the same room as the ps3 and it connects wirelessly to the router at (usually) Full strength. What exactly should I be looking for when checking its settings? Do I need to change the wireless channel to a certain one? I remember people saying that for the will I should make sure its on channel 1 or 11. Thanks again.
