Circle of Fire Disappearing

I've run into this a few times, but figured I had cancelled during the cast.  However, this occurred at least three times the last game I played (3v3 on Cataract, using Staff of Renewal and generic +health/mana items).  No interrupts were used (no one else was around me), the recharge rate of CoF was triggered, yet no CoF was up.  One time CoF ticked twice and then disappeared.  Has anyone else noticed this?

not a TB player so much but did you move or use another abiity at the same time, this will cause CoF to abort. you shoud see some 'aborted' text too.

Possibly/likely, but I don't think that kind of abort would cause the cooldown time to start?  I know after the first couple times in the last game, I made sure I wasn't cancelling the cast - and yet it still disappeared.

There's a known bug with CoF whereby if you cast a second CoF while the first is still burning (possible with CD flag + staff of renewal), both end when the first ends (meaning the second will be very short-lived).

I believe that's what you experienced.

Sounds very plausible.  I don't remember casting CoF over another one, but I bet that's it.  Thanks.

this has occured to me before. the CoF was invisible, but i was still taking the damage. its really wierd but its probley just a bug

If you cast circle of fire before your first circle of fire expires the first one disappears!

I play torchbearer a ton so I have seen this bug probably 50 times and its probably cost me a few kills......
