Thanks guys :w00t:

The item buttons are completly transparent in the center thus following the contur of the panel no matter where they lie.

I want to do the same for the logoff buttons as well, but WB seems to have problems drawing the buttons correctly when in mouseover state. The button image for the mouseover buttons is exactly the same (only the glyphs change color to show state change), but WB doesn't like light shadows on mouseover buttons. The light drop shadow all but dissapears! >:(

I have seen this before and it's damn annoying!

Any advise on this would be appeciated

The logoff button on the right side in the screenshot is actually pretty close to how the image appears on mouseover even though it is supposed to look like the left image.

*Edit*

Since the buttons themself don't change states, I can draw them on the actual bottom part of the startpanel......hmmm that may work

Call it Utility. Looks like it'll utilize quite a bit imagination especially if you get the buttons the way you want them. Just a suggestion. Good work though.

Try using pre-multiplied alpha

Try using pre-multiplied alpha

I'll be damned!

I'm could have sworn I'd tried that earlier! Kitty even suggested it and I said "nah, I've tried that"

Sorry, Kitty and thanks John

I really like it, Tim! Love the layout and matte black. A good green, also. This looks like a winner to me. Keep going!

Oh the joys of this forum!

Some bits in

Hey! This goes well with the wall I did for Solid State. Maybe I should call this Solid Slate :P

Excellent start!

Just throwing out an idea.......how about a pixel or 2 wide border on the button mouseovers matching the neon green

I like this a lot...very nice...The green parts need work tho...just not 'special' enough. :)

I think you are right

A bit better?

I widened the green and broke it up into 2 parts......added some stripes too

Personally, I liked the single green bar on each side better. Possibly what IR was saying was that they needed more depth. A 3-D feel, maybe?

Yep....I agree also. The solid green stripes looked better to me...maybe an animation in those stripes...like some skins have on the taskbar buttons? A flash..Subdued...with an elegant panache.

I think so too (one stripe is also easier from a skinning point of view)

I tried that......it looked kinda cheesy :\

but I will play with the idea.

The green stripe will be tweaked in any case

Hmmmm........ ??????

Yum.  :d

I wonder...is it possible to add the kind of 'glint' animation that Infinity ver. 1 has in the start button to the green bars? Might not look good...dunno. You have good taste and skills Tim...you judge.
