Well, after 7 years of floundering around in a life that was not for me, I'm going back to what I know and do best.  I've been given an opportunity that will not come around again and I'm taking it.  I'm USMC to the bone and finally, after all this time, I'm getting back to my roots.  I've been working at trimming down to fighting weight, literally, and I'm continuing to get into shape for active duty which is taking up my free time.

When I broached the subject with my wonderful wife a few weeks ago during a much needed vacation, she was very supportive of it.  Of course, she's a Marine wife.  Those who know, know. ;)    She's the best and I don't deserve her.  (I scored way out of my league with her.)

All of this however causes a conflict for the other thing that I love doing, which is skinning.  So skinning takes a backseat.  Maybe one day I'll have time, but not now.  You understand.  This community has been great and I'm thankful for all the support over the years.  I'll lurk around a bit before leaving but that's about it.

Well, I won't say I'm surprised as I'm really not buddy, What I will say that our country needs more like you, If I'm going into a fight, can't think of anyone else I would want with me.

 

Thanks for all your hard work with myself and the other Maxstyles artists, you have made quite an impact in your time here and won't be forgotten by me or anyone else I'm sure.

 

Makes me sad to see you leave but.... Give em hell and stay safe my good man! :congrat:

There was this 'old' skinner....years ago...before Wincustomize...who said 'you never really leave the Marines' .....he took off 'over there' somewhere classified a bit later on ....kinda wonder where he is these days....we still have his 'stuff' here on the site.....

Buzz_Hog was his name....and I still have this one in my 'wallpaper' section...;)

Life is the road we all travel never knowing what is around the next bend or turn or just on the other side of the hill.  I hope your travels are safe and that you don't run into any detours along way. 

You will be missed but never forgotten.  Send us postcards from the different places you see and stop at on your travels.  One piece of advice, never travel in anyone else's tracks, find the place in the road that gives you a smooth ride, but wear your seatbelts, just in case.

Remember, there is a community here watching out over you.

If that is what fulfills you, than I'm happy that you've made this choice.  I also thank you for making this choice and for your past service.  I'm not pleased with my government but I'm grateful for the soldiers who sacrifice their personal lives in service to our country.  Please relay my thanks and gratefulness to your wife and family, as well, as I understand more of what they will be sacrificing than what you will be sacrificing.  :'(

Yeah living a life where you dont really feel like its you, tears you down from the inside and leaves a empty walking shell, so if the marines is that true you you must get in there again for yourself and everyone around you... just keep your head down!
