IMPORTANT: DesktopX has stopped working on Windows-7 RTM build 7600

I tested DesktopX on two previous beta versions of Windows-7 for their compatibility and all functions worked good.

However today, after installing Windows-7 RTM build 7600 I found very serious problem. The export to widgets and gadgets has stopped working!

I understand that this is only one more beta version of Windows. But I want let you know where you may find a bugs which must be solved before using DesktopX with a new generation of Windows.

More details: DesktopX can save widget or gadget but ALL OF THESE WIDGETS/GADGETS DOESN'T WORK WHEN YOU WILL TRY TO RUN THEM.

I'll check after Thursday, when it's on MSDN

     I see that Microsoft works very slowly...

Don't worry I've already deleted this copy. However I was convinced once again that Vista compared with Windows 7 (I even couldn't imagine that OS may work so quickly) - is a crap! Just sad that I spent so much money to buy it...

So, did you get it to work?  7 is better than Vista but I hope it doesn't break the functionality of your software.

I was hoping to try WeatherLab 7 on Win7.  Does that work? I have the XP version but not the Win7 version.  Is there such a thing?

I'm working on Win-7 Ultimate from August 7. And I've tested the most of my gadgets - no any errors or problems was found. All works fine! (By the way WeatherLab-7 means that this gadget was designed directly for Windows-7)

The only one problem (that must be immediately solved by Stardock!) - DesktopX export module is uncompatible with Win-7 and doesn't work here. So I've installed the Virtual PC with Windows XP SP3 where I can save my DX projects as a gadgets or widgets. It took a few additional gb on my HDD but I can use DX as before...

So don't worry. You may install Win-7 even today and use any DX gadgets.

Do u have any Sidebar Gadgets that no need for DesktopX. When I was using Windows Vista, I love to use your Sidebar clock, calender and calculator. But once I have upgrade to Windows 7 those Sidebar gadgets doesn't work anymore. Could that be possible u will make some Gadgets for Windows 7?

Sidebar gadgets work on windows 7. If you're running 64 bit you may have some problems. But you can copy your 32 bit sidebar.exe to your 64 bit sidebar folder, and overwrite the 64 bit one, and they will work. Remember to backup your 64 bit one first!
